OmahaBravo's Build Thread

Same. Was literally just about to pull the trigger on an upgrade to Pintop from BC.

Now I’m searching the bowels of the interweb looking for leaked info!

tell me you havent closed your hood in a long time without telling me...

in case anyone is wondering where exactly the head of the hood shock/ball mount land when closed on the passenger side... my buddy Murphy helped me find it 🤦‍♂️ 🤦‍♂️ 🤦‍♂️ :ROFLMAO:

if i try to solve this the MAWs (might as wells) will pile up so... remove shock and ball mount, carry 2x4 for propping hoodup until after trip. done

Some lessons are learned that way aren’t they lol

Took my 90+ year old gpa with me to go run a trail out in western OK. Had a blast and hit a variety of terrains.
Learned a few things about my truck so far that i'm going to be changing before Kentucky... (fyi - some of yall know this already. this was my first run with some of this stuff so i got a today year's old education)

I have a mount in my center dash area and will be uninstalling it. Nothing against the hardware... its the location/what its mounting TO that is causing my issue. Its too flimsy for my liking. I have to use a long arm to even be able to mount my iphone in the position i like. The longest arm Ram makes in B size. Its too much. IMO its putting too much straing on the thin plastic its all connected too. Plus, even after i removed the arm halfway during the run it still rattled like crazy on what i would consider regular washboarded roads. This was my first time using it and i was hoping this would work but was skeptical when i had to buy the longest arm they make.
I'm sure it works for folks on here and thats great but it does not meet my standards. And to think... I was considering mounting my ipad off this... :ROFLMAO:

Speaking of Ipad, Gaia connects like a champ to my Sync4. My gpa has never been on a computer so asking him to navigate on my ipad was outta the question. Therefore, i connected my phone to the sync4 and rolled. Worked good enough for me.
I will be bringing the ipad in case we want to review maps/look for alt routes but i'm planning on using the Sync4 connected to my phone as my primary.

Talon just got an order from me b/c SOMETHING fought with my tranny pan heat shield and won. Likely was a stick but i dont want to find out who would be the victor in a fight against [object] and tranny pan. It didnt turn out very well for @Godzilla/Tremornator so... take my money, Talon.🤘

Airing down... i need to do more testing on how much i can air down. Let me know what yall have aired down to on stock rims with stock tires. I only went down to 40psi b/c we were on/off a good amount of state highways so i felt like that was a good balance to not have to be in/out. I prob should have ran 25-30 b/c i was super light. No load at all except some recov gear and my passenger.
In KY itll be full blown air down so.. please advise what yall have run with no issue so i can have a starting point for my testing. TIA.

Lastly, my air setup performed awesome, the clown-flator v1 my buddy gave me made airing up super easy, and the 3d printed gauge covers and air coupler/tip covers did their job flawlessly.

Anyone know what these seals on the floor are called? Id like to replace this one but i cant find the part number nor what to call them.

Whoever installed this wiring before I bought the truck put a good size slice in it.

Look like floor plugs. I'm sure there's a more technical name for them.

these are the ones coming up for 'my vehicle' but they show to have holes in them? Not sure if i should believe the pictures or not but the location, charts, graphs, all that shows them to be the exact location. 🤷‍♂️
looks like they are 40mm? There's tons of options on Amazon: 40mm

Just pulled front driver tire and unscrewed the two caliper slide bolts to check the slides. Truck came from SD and spent three years in it.
However, all is good so i'm not even going to bother with the other three.

Greased front u joints.

Spot on. Just took my caliper to the hole. I'm getting 39.8mm so, yea, 40mm.
Just ordered them. Arrive Wednesday.

Thanks!

Now why on God's earth would you want any lights there @OmahaBravo 😂

I am soo jealous!

@BroncOh its my birthday on Monday, you could send me a small gift of brackets my way!

Love the armor! I really really need to get me some skid plates. I'm waiting for an accident to happen and I don't want to go there.

You might have posted it and I might have missed it but which sliders did you go with? How much of it can be used as a step would you say?

You're still not lifted, correct?

Love the progress!
