Unless you NEED or just want the Fox ATS stabilizer w/ Bracket its $650 btw. Just get the Bilstein 5100 Stock replacement stabilizer $100 on amazon or the FOX 2.0 Stock Location for $250. Unless you are having death wobble issues. But since you are keeping it stock the Bilstein is the way to go here. Ford OEM one is hot garbage.

Shocks are more important. But also keep in mind that a lot of these higher end shocks are "rebuildable" and probably wont last as long as you would like. The Fox 2.0 are rebuildable, however, cost wise its almost the same price to buy new ones. Additionally, when you consider the downtime of having them off, shipping them, then reinstalling them. The 2.5 HTO is a better choice long term as they will dissipate the heat better with off roading or towing.

I had Fox 2.0 and the Fox 2.0 Stabilizer on my 2012 F250 and they were great. Will likely get the 2.5 HTO for the Tremor.

A lot of guys that have high end shocks also have a set of Bilstein (if lifted as you can get the appropriate lengths) or keep the OEM around when it comes time for rebuild.

The Fox will give you a nicer ride unloaded and off-roading than the Bilstein but they are also more expensive. Or just run the Bilstein that are significantly cheaper since you are staying stock springs, towing heavy loads and not have any downtime when rebuilds (of the higher end stuff) is needed.

An additional benefit to the FOX HTO is that the 0-1.5" version is somehow also the appropriate length for both the factory Tremor and one with a level kit. The 2-3.5" lift has proven to be too long. There are numerous threads about this.

You could go with the Bilstein stabilizer for $121 here

Or for a smidge more you could do the BDS Dual setup with NX shocks here

So that's ~$1200 with taxes.

I was thinking about getting these Carli Leaf Shackles to help with some of that.

I didn't know they had these. I may check them out - I was considering a small lift of sorts being that the whole stock set-up has about 55K on them. My shocks were already replaced (2 times) under warranty.

After tons of reading it sounds like the bilstein is an upgrade over factory, for the price you can’t beat it. A step up for better wash board absorption would be Fox 2.0 and then the HTO being the most expensive but best off road.

I get shocks are only one part of the equation but if I got with bilsteins it’ll improve what I had and save some money for ammo…..or a new tonneau cover…. Any last minute recommendations or know if any sales to pull the trigger on the bilsteins? Anyone think it will be regret?

@Meister71 You may want to look into the Rear 33-306254 shock as Tremor block is taller than standard superduty. Gives you extra droop travel but wont bottom out as the axle will hit the bump stop first.

Carli shackles

Any one have these installed yet? I am having them installed on my 22 currently and when I get that truck back I am dropping off the 15 to have shackles put on it also. Was looking to see if I am just a Carli fanboy or if anybody noticed a difference?

He does make an excellent point regarding Bilstein - for my build went with B8 5160 having a remote reservoir which attached to shock body makes for a clean/easy install. I did get a discount, ran me 1050 for set of 4

Pleased with the ride and off road handling, running 37's and 1 inch lift, handled Sedona, Big Bend, and Christmas Mountain while being smooth at 72-82+mph

Those are the same part numbers I ran on my 2020 Tremor. I thought that setup was a nice upgrade over the factory shocks/stabilizer.

We sell a lot of the carli hangers. I have had them on my truck for a few years now, and have best the hell out of them down in Mexico, and towing.

Nice to have a grease fittting too.

This is great info, I have not seen this confirmed. I was leaning toward Bilsteins but now going back toward Fox 2.5 (on Amazon for $317). I want a nice smooth DD ride, capable of loads <3% of the time. I have levelers (aluminum block type) in the front and don't intend on doing any more lifting.

I was also thinking of adding Sulastic Shackles. I'm not sure if this changes the ride height. Thoughts?

Does Ford use these types of mods to void warranty for other OEM parts?

Keep in mind I think with Fox you have to send them off for rebuilding when they've exhausted their life. So you'll be buying another set to swap out or without your truck while they're out for service.

I do not think the shackles change heights, you can get some that do raise / lower but I don't recall that being in sulastics catalogue. But yes some companies do make shackles that can change ride height I just don't think that's the business market sulastics caters too.

Ford's not going to bother you about shocks. One could argue if you go 40s and the trans dies they might get you there but you've changed a lot at that point anyway.
