[Canyon Trekker]

Confirmed again today, front wheel still squealing when 4W engaged, had to play "tourist" today. Bummed I couldn't travel with the group. Instead, I did some challenging obstacle course navigation dodging Subarus and SUVs for pavement access.
Had to pass this up today.

Explored a little in Arches NP and Canyonland. Tomorrow it's Goblin Valley and Sand Mountain. Then Tuesday, whatever comes up. Hey, 2 wheeling ain't that bad... so long as you are willing to hoof it periodically.

I suggest posting your favorite or best pics on this thread. I'm working on creating a Google Drive folder for everyone to drop all their photos in.

Also will work on pulling my dash cam footage and uploading that to YouTube, but that work will need to wait until next week when I'm able to get back in front my my desktop.

 

[DTX2023Tremor]

On Thursday, we completed the Copper Ridge Trail that has some really cool and challenging obstacles that tested even the most experienced in the group. We also got to cross a nice mud puddle and I gave it a fair amount of gas to get across it quickly, making the back end fishtail a bit along the way.

The mud got everywhere, even shooting all the way up through the engine bay onto the bottom of my hood. The next morning, I had to spend about 20 minutes with a battery operated pressure washer to rinse off my lights and camera as they were worthless driving back to camp after sundown. The mud in the fenders was about 1"+ thick as well as what was under the running boards.

I have a feeling I will be cleaning out red mud for months. It took me 40 minutes with a pressure washer to get the mud out could see off the truck.

While a handful of others challenged themselves through the 3D trail and tackling the pickle (you'll hear more about that later), @MVI lead @JDP, @soulezoo and I towards Deadman Point. We decided to each lunch and conquer a safer pickle . Congratulations on the Trail Captain badge, brother!

Before we ventured on, @MVI wanted to mini baja drive my payment Queen and he enjoyed it.

@soulezoo needed to get back to camp so we headed into Deadman Point. This two hour trail was definitely worth the travel. Don't be fooled by the 3/10 rating. There were a couple areas that needed a spotter. Thanks to @Mrs. MVI for holding back a branch! The views are unreal. A crazy Texan got pretty close to the edge.

Each of us enjoyed taking photos and I think we got some TOTM material .

We headed back to camp to relax and get some dinner. Following a great day, the full moon made for an even better night. Here's @Canyon Trekker capturing the moment with his high tech camera.

We actually skipped the section called "the pickle", but still found ourselves in quite a few pickles on the 3D trail. Thankfully we had the experience of @Toxophilite to guide us through some pretty technical and nerve wrecking challenges.
