the rusted out broken flange is already torn out in the pics

tile was definitely an after construction update.

also the immediate 90⁰ at the floor is handcuffing me also.

the drain is 3" pipe & the flange i gotta cut off is outside, not inside like it's supposed to be.

there's about a 3" deep void under where the new flange will be.

I'll back fill & pack in new concrete tight to the drain pipe tomorrow. that'll support the new flange like it needs to be.

just a pain in the butt, when if it would have been done right it probably would not have failed. then even if the wax ring did fail it would have been easy peasy, no big deal.

I had a built up floor (previous owner installed solid hardwood floors where the rough in was built for tile) and we used an extender to raise the flange to proper floor height.

mine is 1/2in low then directly goes 3" 90⁰ sweep.

thinking of elevating it an inch & a half with a 2by. gotta fab it up to see what the best fix is.

i have a twist tight 3" inside if i can get it down far enough. the 90⁰ makes it tilt buy the time i get it snug. not sure I'm liking that?????

google Gemini is telling me it's only $1500 - $2000 to ship a f250 to the UK or Germany. 6month travel visa has no import duties. just need documentation your auto insurance is good over there.

the next year or 2 i think I'm gonna do my best to make it happen. especially since anywhere south is an "asking for trouble" endeavor.

similar to a colorado trip?
early summer to late fall maybe?

I've been to the UK one time. Wife and i rented a car. We drove down a street with cars on either side that was SO tight the cars proximity/collision alarms, ALL OF THEM, were going off. I am not embellishing that story one bit.

I was 1,000% sure i was going to be paying for damage.

This was a small meep-meep vehicle.

There aint a snow balls chance i would consider taking my Super Duty to the UK, or any island at that.

Great idea for the trip. The fuel costs alone would be a deterrent enough for me.

I’ve spent quite a bit of time in all various parts of Europe and folks aren’t lying when the say those cobblestone streets are narrow

well

my horn started acting (sounding) funny no too far back.

decided to check it out.

of course pulling the grill, found some messed up clips & missing bolts (screws?) from the radiator replacement or the motor replacement.

the lower screw on the drivers side, missing all together. a few clips missing & broken to.

good thing is all my wiring is good. diagnosed by plugging the horns in opposite, one at a time with each connector. the bottom horn turns out dead.

decided to upgrade sort of. cheap aftermarket horns that are supposed to be way louder????

we'll see.

i was able to make a new pigtail out of the old wiring. avoiding cutting the factory horn power supply lines. yaaaaayyy!!!!!!

plugged the factory snap in conector with JB Weld. my favorite stuff!!

ran out off daylight, plus need some clips tomorrow, to fix everything back right.

also, while i have the grill off. i gotta go whine. the ear at the top inside of the passenger headlight has been broken off. doesn't really affect anything, but no one has been in that except dealers. grrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!

any pic of progress so far.

I'll finish it up tomorrow. unless they agree to put in a new headling.

quick question here too????

the passenger side has a rubber piece that funnels all the air into to radiator. the drivers side doesn't. 2020 7.3 gal.

is missing or it there not one on the drivers side?

plenty of room between the grill & radiator for nearly whatever you might want to put in there.

gas engine anyway. don't know about the diesel.

Be careful on which aftermarket horn you put in there and using the oem wiring. Some will pull more power and may lead to blown fuse. I swapped the horn on a Honda Pilot with one if the louder ones years back. If they held the horn for more than 2 seconds, the fuse would blow. Had to redo it with wiring from the battery and a relay actuated by the oem horn wire.

I'm good. checked all that. 3.5 amps for each horn, 7amps total. the factory wiring is heavier than the horn's wiring too.

When I was a kid, I put an F-350 horn on my old Toyota pickup. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought about putting an old Toyota pickup horn on my F-350.
