I figured you were going for sideways. My tent is so long no way I could pull the sideways mount off lol.
long ways the way its meant to go its 4 inches past my tailgate when its down. hangs off way to far. for me away. due to the job box.

just finished clampin it on. ready to load up & go again.

first time I've cleaned them up to this extent. they have spent their whole life prior cleaned with the water hose dried in the sun & stored in the garage. just don't want them to rust away. the salt & clay from Bonneville was/is some nasty 💩

i don't/didn't but also sharpen them

just like a sharp axe chops better a sharp shovel digs better

clean, slippery metal always drives smoother-N-deeper, no matter what it is (and that includes all-metal pistol slide-to-frame action).

I just cleaned some surface rust from an ill-fitting trailer rear door (made of angle iron) - no way to adjust it since the hinges are welded strap, blah blah blah but all I did was dry paper towel and some WD40 and, boy! howdy... it's never worked better! (the door rubs the jamb at the bottom left corner which in hindsight is great for supporting any additional weight hung on the door's interior during travel).

I only began my reply to say, "you had me at Ballistol!" 🏁

O Great Gawdziller!

Tell us a tale of the Two Chains?

baltistol is the European version of wd-40. wd-40 is great to clean stuff up & cut through the rust. it's a good temporary squeak killer. problem is, it dries up, evaporates, something. anyway it dissipates. ballistol lingers & doesn't dissipate.

sux though, on-line is the only place i can find it.

Holy smokes!

Another little-known GENIUS hack!

We are not worthy... :ROFLMAO: (y) 🏁

^ ^ ^ been awhile since I've goofed off indoors.

I'm headed out w/ a buddy to Monument Valley this coming week for a few days (my F350 Tremor + tiny squaredrop trailer - he in his HDPP long-bed Super Cab 5.0 Coyote F150 w/ a big ol' camper shell in it), then the rest of the week up in southern Utah. We'll have our Marlin and Winchester "fishin' poles" along for the ride when we're out of any Nat'l Park, back on BLM land and with fresh herd of tin cans. Don't get much better.

On the way back here to Cal-eye-f0rn-eye-aye I'll camp in the Mojave Preserve, down near an intersection w/ the Mojave Road (goes east-west, with intersecting roadways north/south betwixt I-15 and I-40).

just finished cleanin it up

and

yep, you guessed it
ballistol

those are some mighty fine "fishin poles" from what I've heard.

wasn't planning to leave quite that soon. I'm waiting on some new storage bins to tidy up my travels kit.

wondering

if they got here soon enough for me to get sorted out hit the road. where might an ol' boy catch up with ya'll. your expected arrival to monument valley? I'd be coming in from the east through Albuquerque.

that is, if there's room & he wouldn't be intruding???

We're planning on two overnights, those being Sunday night and Monday night, leaving St. George Sunday morning and returning to St. George Tuesday afternoon.

I wanna be up near Cedar City right after that for a few days.

If you could make it (we have to decide on a GMRS channel, if you're GMRS radio equipped) that would be flippin' awesome. We plan on boondockin' (I am averse to campgrounds, much preferring the wide, open spaces) in/near Valley of the Gods. I've never been there. My compadre, Ed, has.

valley of the gods
blm land
wide open
they ask, don't make new trails

it's awesome

I will refer to this thread of yours! and specifically your recent Post #277 for immediate reference.

*outstanding* and thank you

Looking forward to the next time! we may convene. It'd be fun to do all of this in the company of about five to seven other Tremor drivers, that's for sure.

One day... hey, wait! I think in a few months I'll get to meet a few, as they pass through Utah. Hope to meet up with them then.

Cheers! to you, El Tremornator Y Godzilla! 🏁 🏜️ 🏕️
