I’m going to check mine. I don’t think I have a blockage/vacuum but this 23 sucks Def like crazy so it’ll be good to be sure. It’s used 15+ gallons in 12k miles.
The '23+ seem to be known for this. If I'm not too tired to calculate correctly, that would be around 800 miles per gallon of DEF or worse, and my '23 is DEFinitely worse at a rough calc of 685 DEF mpg.

I think my '24 gets less than that. Maybe about 500.

Been busy away from the forum transitioning over to FoMoCo.

There's an internal passageway that allows the tank to be at ambient pressure. If any unsintered Nylon blocks this passage, this could allow a buildup of vacuum. This passage can be opened up with a 3/32" drill (depth 29mm from the outside) until you feel the resistance of the drill break through. Normally the passage is obscured through the zip-tie cross hole, which is only used for shipping purposes. Use compressed air to blow anything free.

Are you saying that I should drill a complete hole through the center from the bottom? (as indicated in your cad)

Was I supposed to have a whole originally or is that what needs to be done?

Thank you and I love the Locking caps great job!

You don’t need to do anything if you haven’t had any issues. None of them have a hole visible from the outside other than for the zip tie. Again, for visualization only if you need to clear the obscured passageway of unsintered powder. Thank you for the kind words!

Thank you for the reply I don't know if I have an obstruction I just have suction and Equalization. When I take the truck in for service next time I'll see if they identify a problem with why my DEF gauge will only either go to 85% full or 92% full.

I love my new caps and have had zero issues with them including a couple 150 mile trips (can't remember if I installed them before or after a 500 miler). Theoretically, based on the information in this thread could someone wash their DEF cap with tap water to get the nasty off, then blow or suck on the end of the cap to see if air moves sufficiently to prevent more than a little vacuum from forming?

The harder you pull, or turbos engaged you will pound through def. If I am not pulling I get 5800 miles between adding def. Generally only added to at each Service appointment of 5k miles.

Wow. I get no where near that. With my 2024 Tremor I add two boxes of DEF every 2000 to 2500 miles. That truck has not pulled a trailer nor hauled a heavy load yet. I just turned 10k miles and have put in I think 8 boxes of DEF since new and it could probably take another box now. My 2022 Dually when pulling a 9000 lb trailer seems to get 350 to 400 miles to a gallon of DEF.

Same with my 2024. But, if it means less EGR, I’ll happily use more DEF.

Back on topic. I had to drill both of my DEF caps (two different trucks). They were both pulling a vacuum.

On my 2024 Tremor, I fill the DEF until it overflows and the gauge only goes to 89%.

So I’m missing something here. When I open my kick-ass locking DEF cap I definitely have a vacuum, but I’ve never seen a consequence or problem from this.
Same here, leaving me perplexed but happy. 😌

Drilled as BroncOh indicated, have no more vacuum(I tested with mouth suck/blow before and after) but still have fill percentage issue. Will eventually have looked at during service.

I now have a vacuum as well, I never paid attention to it before and have not had any issues but I wonder if the stock cap has a vent or vacuum relief .

What is up with all the vaccum issues i’m reading. I have BEM caps, first had them on my 22 now moved them to my 23, never had a vacuum issue with either of them in 3 years, they just work.
