For those who have it installed, have you found any negatives with the fridge? I have convinced myself the loss of console space is outweighed by the benefits of an easily reachable fridge.

Also, anything to be aware of on the installation? It looked pretty straightforward in the video, but you know how product videos always make thing look easy.

My wife thinks it will be a great addition to the truck when we are towing the camper on long trips. We will bring our cold drinks, snacks and next portable meal from the camper fridge into the truck. I am starting to lean towards picking one up for the discounted price, unless there are known issues.

The only part of the installation that you can mess up on is the hole cutting. Find a hole saw or devise another way to make a very shallow 3.5" hole. I used the template to mark the center of the hole with a silver sharpie then set aside the template to drill. My newer Irwin hole saw is pretty aggressive and had to use a steady hand with light pressure not to bite into the plastic too hard and twist the drill out of your hand. Using the smaller M12 Fuel drill there was plenty of room to maneuver it. Suggest you plug it in and make sure it works before drilling the hole. Keep the unit upright for a couple hours before testing or operating for the first time to ensure the refrigerant oil is at the bottom.

I used ForScan to change the Power Point Timeout to 7200 seconds. The fridge stayed on for 2 hours after the truck was turned off.

Is this the maximum value allowed in Forescan? I have the dual batteries on my truck, so I think I could power a small fridge for longer than 2 hours without killing both of them.

The value is Power Point Timeout and the max time I think is 7200 seconds or 2 hours.

1. how loud is it when it is running? I imagine it is quiet, but a dB level at 1 meter would be nice info.
2. how long does it take to cool down to its operating temp when it is around 80 degrees out?

The truck AC vents are louder than the fridge. The only time I can hear the fridge at all is when I shut everything down and get out. I can barely hear the fan running at all.

There is an excellent review with lots of back and forth banter on the Raptor Forum where he discusses both of your questions. As Vigilance247 mentioned, it is very quiet and cannot be heard unless there is nothing else on in the truck. It takes only 20 minutes in the Florida heat to get the fridge down to the operating temperature.

Sound? It's super quiet. You'll only notice it if you're driving with no music, no air, windows up, under 40 on a smooth road.

Cooling? Incredibly fast. I'd guess it got to temperature in about 20 minutes of being on. And it definitely holds the temp very well. The lid is magnetized (btw I'm a big fan of anything that utilizes magnets well), so it has a perfect seal all around.

Size? It fits 12 regular sized cans. Two rows stacked, 3x2 on each row.

Yes the mrs is also pushing the bench seat on me. And I like the wireless charging plus the rear vents for the backseat. I was 100 percent sold on the bench seat for my xlt. But since I’m upping to the lariet I really like the idea of the console. And I love this fridge. But I have a feeling like the sixth seat it won’t get much use. I do like the bench for a little more open feeling and leg room. Plus I’m like you and and I hate crap in my trucks. So less is kind of more. But ultimately our two little dogs get the final say and have to sit up front. Haha I’m check out that ICECO fridge. Ultimately I think I will get a dometic or something like that for the back seat for camping and etc.

I doubt a woman going to want to sit in the middle uncomfortable seat and give up the heated seats. Definitely get the console. The storage space is great

At the 6 hour mark, the fridge was warm inside. I thought maybe I caught it during an off cycle? I came back at the 7th hour. The power light was on but the compressor had not been running for some time because the inside was hot. It might be because I had the console lid closed and it just got too hot? I turned the fridge off and let it rest. It’s working fine now.

I will try it again maybe tomorrow with the console lid open to see if that helps.

Update: leaving the console lid open seems to have helped. The fridge is still cold after 6 hours.

I plan to take mine on several long distance trips of more than 8 hours each day and my console lid will closed. I hope it continues to work the whole time.

The other thought is the voltage being supplied by the truck to the power point port. Maybe after 6 hours the truck goes into a power saving mode, causing the fridge to shutdown the compressor due to less than 12 volts.

I had 2 plastic water bottles and a can of Reign Orange Dreamsicle energy drink in the fridge.

The fridge has a low voltage sensor and you may be right about the battery voltage.

Last night the fridge ran about the whole 8 hours with the console lid open. I checked it about 10 minutes short of 8 hours. The fridge was getting a little warm and this was at night during cooler temps. I was drinking the Reign and it was still cool but definitely not cold.

My fridge arrive today, so I will be installing it this weekend. I will change the Power Point Timeout to 28800 so I am covered when I need to leave it on for several hours.
