Dometic CCF-T Center Console Refrigerator On Sale Now

As others have said, I do not need this, but I am wondering how much it holds? Two six-packs worth of stuff? The picture on their website appears to show a second row of soda cans.

Also, do you use it as a smaller console for glasses, tools, etc. when it is off?

This is making me wonder if I should of ordered the console instead of the bench seat ?
I originally thought I wanted a bench seat to have the Mrs. close by. Then I realized that I’d rather have the console and wireless charger and a couple other things that get deleted with the bench more than I want her sitting next to me. The console cooler was my expensive way of controlling the amount of crap I can shove in the console. It is neat but will not get used in 75% of my drives because they are short. I also have an ICECO fridge/freezer that is much more useful in the storage department. This dometic console unit will make you go get 12 cans to see if it really fits in there. Which it does but it does not look like it would.

These things are cool but I do have a cheap armrest cooling thing in the back for the kids, tempted to upgrade to this one but dont want to lose my center console space. Also, use code PATHFINDER for an additional discount.

This discount code takes another $24 off of the price to bring it down to $455.

Yes the mrs is also pushing the bench seat on me. And I like the wireless charging plus the rear vents for the backseat. I was 100 percent sold on the bench seat for my xlt. But since I’m upping to the lariet I really like the idea of the console. And I love this fridge. But I have a feeling like the sixth seat it won’t get much use. I do like the bench for a little more open feeling and leg room. Plus I’m like you and and I hate crap in my trucks. So less is kind of more. But ultimately our two little dogs get the final say and have to sit up front. Haha I’m check out that ICECO fridge. Ultimately I think I will get a dometic or something like that for the back seat for camping and etc.

The installation was easy. Be sure to double-check the template's location prior to cutting the hole for the fan. At first the template appeared to fit properly, but measuring and using the instructions as a reference, I saw it was improperly placed.

Speaking of hole, you'll need a 3.5" hole saw. I didn't have one that big, but Amazon did. If you decide to pull the unit out, Dometic includes a nicely-finished plug to fill the hole.

A couple of questions:
Where is the 3.5” hole? In plastic? In the floor?
Did you have to drill a drain hole?
Is there enough room at the front edge to put stuff and still close the console lid door?
Can you leave the fridge off to store stuff so it acts like a smaller console when cold is not needed?

I like the idea for long trips, but I hate to lose my console space for everyday driving.

In the forward wall of the cubby.
Did you have to drill a drain hole?
No. The instructions state that the presence of condensation indicates a bad seal in the unit.

There's a little space, but not much. If you look at the underside of the lid, you'll see two blockish protrusions that extend down under the front edge. Between them is a storage area, maybe an inch high.
Can you leave the fridge off to store stuff so it acts like a smaller console when cold is not needed?
Yes. There's a power switch on the unit, as well as removable rubber mat in the bottom.

When I cleaned out the storage area, I thought, 'What am I gonna do with all this shit?' Then I realized most of it was stuff I use so rarely it doesn't need to be up front. Tire gauge? Under the back seat. Trailer locks? To the trailer. FORScan cable? Into the garage.

The door panels have a ton of space. A folded microfiber towel in the bottom of a door cubby keeps stuff from rattling.

I'm curious, I went through their installation manual and did not see anything on a drain for condensation. Granted, it shouldn't really have much, but what if... right onto the floor?
I have this setup, condensation is super minimal. You have a vent for the fan motor you have to cut out, but you can pull the whole unit in and out pretty easy to clean.

It has a sensor for low volts and will turn off.
I never checked to see if that 12V receptacle is off when the truck is off. If it is then the unit will definitely be off. I figured it was off because the installation directions always sait to start the truck before testing the unit. It may simply be because they dont want you to run down the battery(s) or that the receptacle has no power when the the ignition is off.

If I recall the 12V outlet stays on for 45 mins after the truck is off.

Last Line Of Defense YouTuber said it can be extended to 2 hours with ForScan. I’ll see if it works that way.

I used ForScan to change the Power Point Timeout to 7200 seconds. The fridge stayed on for 2 hours after the truck was turned off.
