Comprehensive MPG thread.

New 38’s and getting 24MPG
I assume you didn't get the speedo corrected?

Best I ever got with the old 6.7 was 21.x over 600ish miles down I-95 from VA to GA. I left at 0300 and the average speed was 72 mph. That was bone stock with the factory granite Michelin tires. Adding a level and 295 tires stole 3 mpg from me.
Towing 13k for that same stretch was in the 12s.
Curious how the new truck will fare. If it ever shows up at the dealer 😂

Haha… oops I meant 14MPG

My HO towing a 12,000 pound fiver over mountains averages between 12 - 14 MPG. When towing over mountains I drink def like Frank the Tank drinks beer.

I am running 38’s and I am getting 12 city and 14-15 highway. Going from stock suspension to 5.5” lift and 38’s has averaged a 3 mpg drop overall. However, highway speed is almost always 70-80mph, I’m sure it would be significantly better at 55-65. Mph.

Anything that has DEF after treatment will use substantially more under load. Ever run newer farm tractors? Definitely will see a difference

On last road trip to KTP and back from ID on 37x12.5 K03's with PPE Zilla intake manifold and trubo inlet kit and PPE inner cooler installed
Discovered 72-84mph is sweet spot for milage
Average MPG for the trip ~17.3

At highway speeds, the big difference I've noticed since running PPE intake and inner cooler is the inner cooler and supplemental cooling system together on highway maintains 13-17° difference between IAT and CAT, even on plus 95° days. The OEM inner cooler ran 20-30° difference between IAT and CAT. These are numbers observed on iDash - and no I don't have pictures sorry.

Picture of PPE (left) and OEM (right) side by side - it seems the increased cooling capacity along with improved heat exchange makes a real difference keeping charge air temps lower than OEM inner cooler

this is on par with what I see with my mishimoto intercooler and Pusher setup. Obviously the delta climbs once you start to really get into the skinny pedal but overall i value the intercooler upgrade too just like you

@Tugboat about to drive 90 miles south here in Atlanta. I'll report back since it's a nice hot and humid ass day here.

@Tugboat

This one had been 80-90 the whole time for a while at this point.

This was something more reasonable around a sustained 70-75

Nice seems we're seeing pretty much same this is after 4 hours @80+ stopped in parking lot in Omaha NE coming back from KTP

The other thing I've noticed is Exhaust Filter % (DPF) stay at 0% on the road - around town only gets up to 20-30% then drops to 0% - this behavior started after installing PPE intake and inner cooler wonder if engine is now burning cleaner or is it most my driving is at highway speeds

Probably just the highway speeds. Mine has been at 0 for over a tank of fuel. Maybe a 1-1/2 tanks or so. At first I thought it was because I was lugging around 14k. But for the last 1/4 tank of unloaded highway (a little byway mixed in) it remains at 0%. I put about a 1/4 to 1/2 tank through it prior to towing after it went to 0. I thought about snapping a photo with the miles before I hooked up just to see how long it stayed. Didn’t do it, but wish I had!
I’m not doing anything different. Same 2 fuel stations, same Optilube every fill.

Slightly O/T, but curious, do you actually notice the truck doing fewer regens (ie. through the PID's on your iDash)? Or does the filter just stay at 0%/lower %'s in between regens? I have noticed now several times on long stretches of highway driving that my filter % stays at 0% but the truck still goes through an active regen every 500miles like clockwork.

The PPE intake and intercooler on both on my short list of mods to tackle this year.
