I love my carpet delete with Husky mats.

No experience with it, got cheap and opted to not purchase that one. I usually only haul passengers in the center a handful of times a year so not worth the $ for me.Yeah, I see the hump. Does anyone have experience with this hump cover? I saw one other thread where someone mentioned it but didn’t like the fit and also said the colors didn’t match.
I think I missed part of your point. Why were you against black vinyl but okay with black carpet?
Same I got anti matter blue and it is a great colour but is dirty in any offroad condition. Just drive down a dusty road and it's dirty.I’ve seen a tremor with carpet delete on the dealership lot. At the time I wanted carpet, but the delete didn’t bother me. The truck was missing a couple things I wanted. The main reason I didn’t buy it was it was dark blue. After owning a black truck for 8 years I’m so done with dark colored vehicles.
This is a great visual. When it came to a choice of carpet delete, I was sold on it and had it listed as one of my options. After talking with the salesman who was a big fan (and owner) of the Raptor, he told me he preferred carpet for the noise suppression. Not knowing that much about the carpet delete option, I reluctantly agreed and ordered the carpet with factory mats. I am not disappointed at all. The small, exposed area of carpet cleans up rather easily and the mats are removable to clean up the big stuff with a power wash. The craziest part of the mud is what gets on the back of the seats and kickboards above the carpet. I put seat covers on that protect the seats, just deal with the kickboards. The below is a post I made on FTE in fall of ‘21 before ordering my truck. Not meant to knock carpet delete, just to add the experience I had when deciding on it.
Will admit that I am very particular and the smallest details bother me way more than most anyone I know.
Just wanted to provide my recent experience for others researching Carpet Delete option (like I was). I had searched and read threads on here about Carpet Delete and was sure that's what I wanted. Although I've never had a truck without carpet, the idea of the carpet delete makes perfect sense to me. I decided I'd better get my eyes and hands on it before placing an actual order, so last weekend went to a Ford dealer and found an F-250 XL (no carpet) and F-250 XLT (carpet) sitting near each other. The carpet delete was not what I expected at all. I was expecting the vinyl to be thicker and more rubbery - almost like a thick heavy duty floor mat - than it actually was. IMO, to me, it seemed thin and pastic-ish feeling, and not very well form fitted to the cab floor. The carpet in the XLT, even tho I know it's thin and cheap carpet, felt much better and more form fitted to the floor, and I much prefer it between the two options (even tho I'll cover it with Husky liners).
I am SOO glad I got to see both in person side-by-side. If I would have ordered the carpet delete and seen it for the first time at delivery, I would have been SICK and filled with regret. Maybe in the higher trim levels it's different and more inline with the misconception I had in my head?, but it was just not what I was expecting at all. If I swapped trucks every couple years, I'd probably still try it out, but I keep trucks for a long time, my current being a 2002.
This is not at all meant to knock carpet delete. Obviously lots of folks get it and love it, and I was sure I would too, but that wasn't the case. I would recommend to anyone that hasn't had carpet delete and is thinking about ordering it, to get your eyes and hands on it in person, and then decide if it's for you or not.

The underside of that is carpet. Look at the seat mounts. It is a matt similar to the underside of the back seat. The below is a post I made on FTE in fall of ‘21 before ordering my truck. Not meant to knock carpet delete, just to add the experience I had when deciding on it.

Yep. I am NEVER going back to carpet...and yes...it's a rubber mat over the typical noise deadening cloth that is under standard carpet. I have always called those "pressed lint" carpets. lolWas vacuuming my truck today and was so glad I spec'd my truck with carpet delete
How much to order the kit from the dealer? Insurance?I was in communications for years and drove many Ford & GM HD vans and pickups that all had vinyl floors. You would not even consider having carpet in that line of work. Vinyl it extremely easy to maintain, keep clean, and looking new for the life of the vehicle. You also don't have to worry about damage or funky smells lingering from water, dirt, or mud. Even If your truck is a pavement princess, all it takes is using your truck in 1 situation like helping someone move to appreciate not having carpet.
I ordered a Platinum with carpet delete but decided not to purchase that particular truck. When the 23's were announced I knew I wanted a 22 but then couldn't find a loaded Platinum on the lot available with carpet delete. That is the single item I wish I had. My 22 will be the last pickup I ever buy with carpet.
That vinyl floor is thin, but it lasts. All the vehicles in the fleet where I work have that floor. I have not seen one fail or rub through. I got that floor in my 17 f150 police responder, it looks great and my grimy boots are in that floor 8 hours a day. I wipe it out once a week and it still looks new. This is a great visual. When it came to a choice of carpet delete, I was sold on it and had it listed as one of my options. I've had other versions in the past, vinyl on the 87 F250, and carpeted on the 99 F250. The vinyl got just as dirty as the carpet with ground in mud and the only thing that made it clean up easy was having removable mats in both versions. If the vinyl floor gets ground in mud, it's just as messy to clean as carpet. The best way to clean it up is with removable mats. Another thing that happened in the vinyl flooring (including the vinyl inserts on the 99) was cracks over time, particularly under the gas pedal, most likely from constant pressure under foot, even though it had removable mats.
I believe carpet is not for everybody, and seeing this post, I think the vinyl flooring may have eventually cracked and have the same issues from the extreme temperature changes we have here and a lot of foot traffic with mud. Most of the mud accumulated is from hikers after an outing. It does clean up though.
I appreciate all the visuals here in this post, I've been kicking around to replace the factory mats with Weather Tech, seems there are a few good options out there to fully protect the existing carpet exposure. Soon...
Here's to mud in the cab, vinyl or carpet, and cleaning up after a great day.![]()
I haven't looked into what it would cost to replace my existing carpet. How much to order the kit from the dealer? Insurance?
That's good info, in hindsight, I probably should have gone with the delete but didn't. So once again, this forum has cost me money, I just ordered a set of Weather Tech mats to replace the (very cheap) OEM "All weather" mats. I liked the Tux mat but diverted, perhaps without cause, I wasn't sure about the origin or whether they would eventually sag at the edges. The Weather Tech is made in the good ole USA and warranted for life. It has the floor coverage I need, and I really like the fact that I can remove them to power wash them. And I can get them in different colors. That vinyl floor is thin, but it lasts. All the vehicles in the fleet where I work have that floor. I have not seen one fail or rub through. I just ordered the front & rear WeatherTech mats to replace the "all weather" as well. Also got the WeatherTech mudflaps to protect our Airstream while towing.I just ordered a set of Weather Tech mats to replace the (very cheap) OEM "All weather" mats.
Are those “cocoa”? I left my factory carpet mats in because I didn’t want the black factory rubber ones with my brown carpet. Those look like they are semi close to the same color as the carpet.
