AVS Bug Shield

No he didn’t.

Right here it sure looks like he is implying the AVS shield is causing the hood to shake due to the hood being aluminum. Have never seen a post by anyone stating the aluminum hood shakes except this post here that refers to his AVS install.

The only thing that caused my hood to shake both in the RAM and Ford is the fact they aluminum nothing else. Andwouldonly happen at highway speeds and Semi trucks passing head on on two lane roads at high speeds

I stand corrected. I have owned a ton of these alumiduties with zero hood vibration or mirror vibrations. The only variable you have different that I know of is the bug shield, which multiple reviews state their hood vibrates after install. Did your hood vibrate before the bug deflector?

Yes at highway speeds only and in higher speed on coming truck traffic not in normal day to day driving RAM's fix was to tighten the hood stops down to cause the hod to latch tighter it worked for a few months then it started again the hood in thin and the air flow come up under it and cause it to shake

Did it bug you that much!?
Every time i would get on a highway the hood would shake, the inside of the mirrors would shake on both sides and even the driver door would shake/rattle from the patches of wind hitting it, especially going into turns at higher speeds. A hood visor shouldn’t be doing that. Some would say it aint a big deal it’s just wind hitting it but that aint me. I knew its coming off the moment i realized the hood is the culprit, just didnt have the time to allocate. I thought the removal would be harder and more time consuming than it actually was. The adhesive came off rather easy with the heat gun slowly going around the seal. Took about an hour total time with cleaning.

Too bad. It looked kind of cool and different.
Yep, but at what cost. I even played around with the light bar that i removed to see if i could fit it elsewhere in the front, like maybe on the tremor valance or behind the grill. So far i can’t find a good spot for it.

I saw a guy do the same thing with the roof version on a Chevy. I haven't had any issues with mine. Not really sure what the difference is.

I pulled mine off today. Discovered it scuffed the paint on my hood. Hopefully it’s not too deep to polish out!

You had the shield that screwed onto hood with brackets and floated above hood and hood rubber bumpers behind it?

Or the skin one that slides over hood and secures with tape?

Aero skin 2, secured on with 3m double sided tape.

It actually ended up ripping into three different pieces as I was pulling it off

Wow. Did you use a heat gun or anything else to aid in pulling off the tape?

I used a heat gun on mine and it came off relatively easy. Nothing broke in the process.

It was such a relief to get back on a highway and not have the flutter on the hood and mirrors. Anyone who says it’s just a minor inconvenience is kidding themselves and others. It’s a serious design flaw, this product should not have been released to market.
