AFTER MARKET BATTERY (S)

I just ordered my Odyssey Extreme AGMs today. Wally World was $20/battery cheaper than any where else plus free shipping to my front door, which keeps my out of that 💩 whole of a store.

Go to BatteriesPlus and check out the weight of the X2Power AGM batteries. More lead virgins than the competition. And no don't wait for your factory battery to die unless you like being stranded at the worst possible time.
Those are what I picked up. No leaking on my original ones either, but my kid’s truck needed new batteries, so I got an update and helped him out.

@MTUcrash which X2Power batteries did you buy?

I looked under batteriesplus and they recommended either the X2Power truck
(part# SLI65AGMDP) or the X2Power marine/deep cycle (part# SLI65AGMDPM).
I was leaning towards the deep cycle, working out of my truck, stereo, charging equipment, out on ROWs, tower camper etc. Then in the off-season the truck usually sits for a few weeks at a time.

I went with two SLI65AGMDP. Also thought about the deep cycle, especially with dual batteries, but ultimately decided that it would be pretty rare for me to run them down for any reason.

Did anyone who switched to AGM change any settings in Forscan? Was thinking the computer needed to charge them differently?

I did but without a valid resource as to what to switch then to. I made an educated/uneducated guess and switched them to 105%.

I swapped mine out to AGM last week and changed forscan bcm settings from flooded to agm and charge state from 120% to 100%. I looked all over the web and never saw any consensus on what to set it at...so far so good, way more cranking power.

No one seems to have an answer to this question and I have been uncertain as to what to do since getting new AGMs last week.

State of charge didn't have an affect on my system after trying various percentages when I added AGM batteries. Lots of Forscan options don't do anything.

All I did was change forscan from flooded to AFM, did mess with anything else, like charge percentage. All is functioning fine.

Aside from the fact that you really won't know the difference (only after a long time, perhaps?) if the batteries are being overcharged or not. Seems most vehicles in today's world have these charging settings figured out to where they're not charging 100% of the time, I would think similar to a slow charger?

Why isn't this ForScan change of battery type on the listed docs for these model years?? Am I just missing that piece of ForScan??

It’s in plain English that’s why.

Arod did a video on it, he went in with forscan and changed from flooded to agm so that’s what I did he made no mention of the percentage that I recall

I'm running XS Power AGM Batteries in my truck, way stronger CCAs, and top quality US made batteries.
