AFTER MARKET BATTERY (S)

I traded my 2017 built 05/2017 on 04/21/2022 still had original batteries. I kept the terminals cleaned and corrosion free.

Thoughts on Walmart for 6.7's from those of you that understand these AGM batteries? Found these listed for $207.25

I consider myself lucky with the type of terrain my rig goes through and still leak free at 30K on the '22 with the stock MC batteries.

The old beast ('07 6.0) has been running Optimas (Red) for a number of years now but it seems like they don't like to sit still for too long and start to loose charge quickly.

The best deal in a standard lead-acid auto battery is at Costco, no question.

They use to have their "Kirkland Brand" (no doubt white labeled national brand) with 100 month warranty that was unbeatable. They would never last 100 months, so you always got a healthy credit on your next battery.

Now they have a partnership with Interstate Batteries and a reasonable warranty (though not as good as 100 month). I think I paid $120/battery the last time I bought one there, have had no issues.

ACDelco Professional is their top tier QC group. Walmart seems to have a good price.

I have ACD Professional AGM batteries in a few cars and they work well.

Truck has 400 miles and batteries are leaking, had Ford replace them a few times in my 15. Not messing with the headache this time. I’ll get the leaking one swapped and sell them

I swapped mine on my 2022 F-350 6.7 DRW on the 1st night I brought it home with a set of Odyssey Extremes. Didn’t want to deal with the leaking on the factory batteries. I traded in my 2020 with the Napa AGM’s that I installed in it when it was 3 months old after 1 of the batteries started to leak.

I picked up a few Group 65 AGM Batteries from Menards. Apparently they are manufactured by AtlasBX who also makes ACDelco.

So far so good.

from my experience, on a daily driver it's a complete waste of money, to go crazy at least. i mean you can get batteries that cost 2k if ya wanted, lipo and life and lithium and all that are unnecessary. i've used standard and agm, agm is the highest i'd go. now if you go boondogin or don't drive for extended periods of time, ya, invest in a badass battery. for my powersport stuff i use lithium, one is specifically life i think, and i know in boats people like lithiums. although i just use odyssey agms for now. unless your extreme, i mean really and don't just think you are, a good sealed agm will be good.

I would NOT recommend run to fail on the battery, especially when the potential failure mode as a leak unless you're absolutely comfortable with corroding the parts under it.

I had a Ford Five Hundred that wouldn't start after returning to the airport because the battery leaked onto a main wiring harness. It was spliced and replaced but the car had random electrical issues for the remainder of its life.

It is important for people who are not aware because I have been hearing it all of my life "they are made by xxxxxx so they are the same" . Nothing could be further from the truth in most cases. Yes, in some instances there is just a packaging change of a product, however, have seen this with my own eyes when visiting certain areas our supply chain --- different specifications are used for performance which is almost always price point driven.

Yeah I started having problems the past 2 days. In the mornings it’ll do a quick turn over and no start. Press the button again and it starts. Then all the lights start coming on. Called the dealer to ask and they said it’s batteries. So I’ve been looking around and I like the Odyssey (had one in my 4 Runner).

I replaced both of mine with the Odyssey's I had 2 set's of Motorcraft's within the first 15k miles and both sets leaked like crazy, so on the last warranty set, I installed the Odysseys and keep the new motorcrafts for my old 7.3 dually.

I ordered a set of ACdelco AGM batteries from Amazon $336 delivered. I used the link above. Thanks. Cheers 🍻

p.s. mine are not showing signs of leaking but I don’t want to take any chances. I’ll use the old batteries as backups for my camper.

Where’s the link?

Go to BatteriesPlus and check out the weight of the X2Power AGM batteries. More lead virgins than the competition. And no don't wait for your factory battery to die unless you like being stranded at the worst possible time.

Here is a link to one of the very few USA made battery MFG's . They private label too .

Diesel engines require top quality batteries as most already know. Do not cheap out.
