Jack., going to encourage you to purchase a fifth wheel to the four on your truck so that you may include that fifth new tire into your truck's tire rotation schedule. You might see a 20 - 25% reduction in tire wear! but the real benefits lie elsewhere.
Sure, one tire will always be 5000 miles behind the others (but it's typically just 2/32" wear) but the benefits down the road will pay good returns if you flat and need the spare for any real distance home.
Your ABS, traction control, roll stability control, locking diff, etc will continue to work seamlessly when all tires are within such close wear to each other.
The other benefit of a five-tire rotation if DIY is we only need to lift one corner of the truck at a time.
[Preferred pattern is known as a "rearward cross" - the front two are crossed to opposite corners of the truck and the two rears go straight to the front axle, same side]
After dropping the spare (use a piece of cardboard or a mechanics creeper or even a furniture flat dolly),
the spare goes onto the passenger rear,
the passenger rear goes onto the passenger front,
the passenger front goes across to the driver rear
the driver rear goes forward the to driver front
and the driver front goes up into the spare cradle for a 5000 mile vacation, rinse and repeat every 5000 miles.
