37 inch spare fits in spare location on 23+

For those upgrading your tires to 37s

May we please see more of your exhaust heatshielding? Thanks!

Any problem with drawbars on the hitch? That was my issue with 35"s/315s on my Ram; I could physically fit the tire but couldn't quite get the pin through my drawbars for the camper without loosening the tire and momentum.

I had to remove the heat shield, but I also have a KMC wheel versus the OEM one, so the tire doesn't fit in the factory spare location. The gap between the tire and the exhaust was about 1/4" until I had the hangers adjusted so I've got about an 1.5" of space now. I have since wrapped the exhaust as well as put some aluminum shielding around the wrap closest to the tire.

Here you can see the previous zero gap with the exhaust wrapped before I had it adjusted.

Since the internet isn't 100% sure if you can swap a 2023+ hitch into a 2017-2022, I bought one from my buddy's junk yard and will try to do the swap here in a month or so. I also need to go ahead and pick up another 37" spare.

What does 23+ hitch offer that 22 did not?
If anything, 22 tremor had a beefier 3” hitch connector.

Apparently it fits a 37 spare with little effort.
Subscribing to this thread as I’d love to swap the hitch on my ‘21 for a ‘23 so my spare fits again.

Picked up a 2024 hitch from my buddy's junk yard yesterday for $150. I took some side to side measurements and I'm not 100% sure this is going to work. I will probably try to remove my spare first and take some measurements.

Does anyone know what part of the hitch the tire hits on a 20-22 hitches that make it 'not fit'?

Can confirm that a 37x12.50 AT3 fits no problem on stock spare and Discount Tire will even install it for you.

I can confirm a brand new 37x12.5R18 Toyo R/T Trail won't fit on an OEM rim

We went down to 5 psi.

I got 3 of 4 pucks to seat, trust me I tried to push her up to make it work...

I'll asses in 20k miles if it fits...

37x12.5R18 KO3 fits on a 6.7 when inflated to 15psi. It’s TIGHT but it’s on all four plastic pucks above it. Heat shield that encloses the factory tailpipe just kisses it in one spot. Lightly enough you can nudge it away by hand. I wrapped the pipe and hit 90+ on the freeway and hopped out to check and can easily keep your hand on the pipe without getting burned, so after consulting with local exhaust shop, I’m leaving it as is for now. Picture is from before I wrapped it.
