350 Tremor - Diesel or Gas?

Oh absolutely! Some of us have the privilage of being well off enough to not be a slave to the grind and live at reasonable altitudes. My rig is absolutely a toy as are my other 5 cars and rigs. Only thing the Tremor is for is to tow a prepped Raptor 1000-1500 miles west to go play in the sand. But itll tow the Raptor, all my tools and camping gear, food and some fire wood with ease across the Great Divide. Its an excellent overlander. And when the diesel bubbas get antsy and think they have a hot truck they cant keep up with the boosted Zilla

LMFAO!! Ive been sittin here all day waiting for the fish to take that bait!! Torque is cool and all. The only thing that builds torque slower then a diesel is a honda civic! Hit 2K rpms and set the sundial and wait.

Bait? Funny, I never notice when towing anything including my 17k 5th. It’s like it isn’t even there. I had 2.5 tons behind her yesterday and almost forgot about it. The zilla is a good motor and can tow stuff with some effort. The HO is a great motor and tows heavy stuff without a second thought. Have fun with your good truck! Let me know if you need me to come over and tow something for you. I’ll make you a good gumbo while I’m there.

So, if that gumbo is truly memorable and youre close, we dont need a towing excuse to celebrate gumbo and beer, God and Country! The only experience I have with diesels is driving military 5 tons and Hummers on occassion back in the day. But I wasnt a maintainer. When I bought this rig I really thought about getting a diesel but I dont know a lick bout maintaining them. With the DEF, filters and added expense I figured a good ole fashion Ford big block was the way to go for me. Only thing I tow are old hotrods and a Raptor. The Godzilla is easily up for that challenge. Plus, the boosted Godzilla with 4.30 gear set embarrasses many "fast car" drivers. I have dubbed her "Moonshine Runner" Semper Fi Mac!

My wife grew up in S'port, with family in Athens and Plano. She married a coonass, I suspect, because she can't cook. (I'm talking she could burn a pot of ice cubes. ) I do have to say that the zilla has been recently described as "one of those engines" that car builders were waiting on. A great piece of iron that has so much potential. It uses only a portion of its capability to make a lot of horsepower and can produce even more when you build upon it, just like you did.
It really is more expensive to run a diesel. I came from a 2020 Navigator. This is my 3rd SD and I think as long as I can climb into the cab, I'll own one. Gas or diesel.

It's great to have more folks from our patch of the US here.

Brother, Im a raging a$$hole in real life! I was in The Marines for 12 years and was in charge of 120 combat ready Jarheads! Then I was a Fed for 24 years dealing with woke DEI fu#kSticks. Think Gunny Highway from Heartbreak Ridge. That's pretty much me. Actually ive been described as a really good guy. No better friend no worse enemy, but with sharp passive agressive sarcasm. But I mean no harm. Just talkin $hit.

Truth is, I wouldnt mind havin a coal burner. Especially some of the powerplants that they're coming out with in the future. I just dont know how to maintain them. Plus I dont do enough haulin to justify one considering the added cost and maintanence schedule.

You'd be surprised with Toy-zilla! For a big rig ole girl $hits & gits! Im clockin 0-60 in about 4.5 sec. Does everything well cept passing a gas station. Hell! Im in Texas! What $hits do I give about fuel & economy?

Coonasses are good people!! Ya'll can literally make an excellent meal out of anything!! Shooters too! My best bud in the Marines was a coonass. He became an excellent RECON/Sniper. He could shoot the butthole out of a gnat at 200 yds all day, easy! Im south of Tyler, closer to Athens then Shreveport. Livin out in God's country with cattle and horses for nieghbors. The Godzilla may not be a good tow/haul motor (4.30 gears help with that though) but its pretty revolutionary in the hotrod world. It has 6 bolt mains and is cross bolted with a forged steel crank. Plus, its the size of the old 351W, so it fits in any old Ford hotrod. Some of the engine builders are gettin over 2000hp on a race prepped Godzilla. Gas or diesel, those numbers are pretty impressive!
