2024 MY Super Duty Order/Schedule/Build Thread

So my guy in AZ says he can take my F250 Platinum Tremor order and have a 10 assigned…they are top 25 so they say. Lots of trucks on lot but only a very few F250. Curious about Black Widow but cant justify expense for my perceived lack of value in that package…they have like 7 on lot and never seen one move…but I digress…I would hate to never get scheduled for build out of smaller CO dealership with a 16 priority…thoughts about switching dealerships??? Also, ordered 17 July as soon as 24 portal opened up, never any correspondence from Ford on this potential truck…7.3 gas so engine not a holdup. Only real options were lay flats, deployable running boards and roof lights outside of Platinum.

Not liking 2 orders either…you guys think that is ok to do? Do you get deposit back if decline truck?

My 10/16 went to 11/6 and as of yesterday 11/13. At this point I would expect the 11/13 or maybe 11/20 to be the production week.

Each dealership will tell you up front if the deposit is refundable. My local dealership was 100% refundable and only needed $500. Some big, high volume dealerships, like Granger, have a $1,000 non-refundable deposit. Nothing wrong with having two orders if you are upfront about it with the dealerships (they don't like it, but if they can't get in your truck and another dealership can, oh well). It also depends on where you are located. In our area, the dealership wouldn't care if I ordered 5 trucks from them and picked one as they came in because they have no SD on the lot and can quickly sell them to other buyers. If your area has trucks backed up on the lot, they may not be as inclined to let you out of an order by refunding the deposit. Long way of saying, only each dealership can tell you if they will refund your deposit if you back out.

If you didn’t get an email from Ford the day after the order, then either the dealer didn’t enter your email correctly, or the truck was never ordered. Go see the dealer and get this straightened out. After the first email, Ford will send you an update email every 45 days like a clock until the truck is scheduled. Unless you have a luxury trim, your truck should have been scheduled by now.

Also the Priority a dealer assigns has very little to do with when a truck will be scheduled compared to other dealers. A 19 at one dealer can be built months before a 10 at another.
The priority is within the dealer. Each dealer gets a schedule pick like the NFL draft. If the dealer has a Super Duty allocation, and your truck is the highest priority at that dealer, and is the longest waiting (in case of ties at a given priority) then it will get scheduled next. Of course all the parts need to be available or it’s not placed on the the list of potential picks.

Once all the dealers get a round in the pick, they start back with the first dealer and do it again one dealer after another. Each dealer get one pick per round. Smaller dealers drop out of rounds because they run out of allocations. Larger dealers may have a lot of trucks ahead of yours and there may not be enough pick rounds to get to yours. Allocations change week to week.
Dealers can use priority to make sure your truck gets picked ahead of others at that dealer. Priority makes no difference compared to other dealers.

My brother in law is the sales manager at the dealer I ordered from. He told me that plan orders like A,X,D also get prioritized higher than a regular order.

I had a feeling that priority codes didn’t mean crap as far as my truck being built any faster. Thanks for explaining all this. Super helpful

I explained all the priority and allocation stuff to spouse but she is a master supply chain exec so I felt out of my element…I guess I’ll roll with 2 dealers and just see what happens…I know AZ refunds deposits because I did it with them on a 23. My order is for sure in at CO dealer because I had a (friend spouse) regional finance officer for Ford check since I have never received 1 email…address correct and truck in line just waiting like everyone else…

Mine went from 11/20 to 12/04 for now, but fully expecting another bump or two.

Likewise. I'd wager I'm getting another bump to January until they get things really ramped up. Especially when they close to plant 2 weeks for Christmas and Thanksgiving

Mine was bumped on Friday from 11/27 to 12/11. Then today it went from 12/11 to 12/4.

Is this a fact or myth? How could they be scheduling for the week of the 27th of November if the plant is shut down?

Because the plant is firing back up tomorrow for MY2024 super duties.

6.7 HO Lariat Ultimate Tremor… haven’t gotten an update in 62 days..got an order confirmation and one update after that (essentially saying your update is no update) and haven’t got a build date yet.

With Lariat trim, if yiu don’t get scheduled this Thursday, your dealer doesn’t have an allocation to get you scheduled (or there is a weird option we haven’t heard about yet constraining your order, will know more by Tuesday morning about those) Lariats are getting scheduled a few days after they are ordered if the dealer has an allocation to get them scheduled.

I ordered my Lariat Ultimate 6.7 on 10/4, received scheduled date of 11/20 on 10/5. Updated to week of 11/27 now. Waiting for more bumps as they get back to work and see the supply-side delays.
