I don’t get affinity for white, gray and black… which is just about all you see around. People were buying colors in the 60’s… much less boring.
I know right. I had to color match my Harley of course and Rapid Red is as close to Velocity Red as I could get.

Just read the same article earlier today. Seems like a good thing. I hope it proves to be a long-term advantage over the life of my truck to be delivered soon.

I had to color match my Barracuda Silver Harley to my new Ford so I ordered the iconic silver. Yeah I know it's not the most exciting color but at least it does a good job hiding the dirt. My street glide was velocity red, loved that color.
I just put in my order on April 27th 2023, so it may or may not get built this year. If it does show up then I will keep it for at least 3 years. Unless the lifters and cam shaft takes a crap before that then I will order another one.
If a diesel SD engine goes bad in 3 years that would be disappointing.

Yeah, that would be disappointing and anything can happen, but the Ford 6.7 is probably the best light/medium duty diesel engine available right now. My 2017 is still purring like a kitten at 125k with zero issues so far. Say what you want about the Cummins (they are very good too), but you have to deal with the rest of the truck being Dodge/Ram/Fiat build quality. Just my opinion.
Agreed. Lot of stories of 6.7s over half a million miles.
I like Cummins but in an 18 wheeler. I prefer the ISX pre after treatment. I absolutely dislike the after treatment system we have nothing but problems with it at Paccar. Which is why I will always prefer gas over diesel. Yes I know that gassers can't pull the torque that a diesel can, my needs don't warrant the expense or headache of the diesel.
Oil burners also have a lifespan around double the one of gassers.
But how many of us keep them that long? I managed to get to 175K on my 2008. It's one of a few that i drive. Still a good truck but everything besides the engine does not last twice as long. Already put a new front end in it during covid. Needs more work and I'd rather put $$ towards a new one. Went with 7.3 this time. I'm sure there will be days I wish for the oil burner but hopefully I'm happy the majority of days! If not, I'll order a '24.
My delivery date slid sideways a little more today. Now showing 5/27 - 6/9. I’m planning to keep the truck for at least 5 years if it’s a good one as I’ve never driven a truck less than 8 years in the past. Just sold an ‘05 and a ‘14 in preparation for the ‘23. Heck, sold a motorcycle too. The price of these things! Haha!
