2023 MY Super Duty Order/Schedule/Build dates from Ford...

Latest update from MacArthur Ford doesn't bode well for higher level trims and certain accessory/options:

If you have a 7.3L XL/XLT/Lariat and are unscheduled, removing the 5th wheel prep, tonneau cover, and power running boards will likely make a big difference. May be tough to get scheduled with the H/O 6.7L.

They also said that there are still 39,000 orders in the order banks. I imagine that doesn't count fleet orders and wonder if this includes dealer stock. I haven't been able to find a clear number of how many units KTP can produce a month, so difficult to know how many orders will roll over. Likely most KR, Platinum, and Limited orders will roll over and lower level trims will get produced.

That is what is crazy... How can Ford only anticipate that they'd only get approximately 1600 Platinum orders... That just boggles my mind! That's just absolutely piss poor planning.
The only thing going against me now is the fact that I ordered a Platinum and the fact that those in charge at Ford are complete idiots.

If Platinum trims make up 25% of the remaining order bank, that is about 9,750 units. If the factory can handle 5% of remaining production volume for the year, then we're looking at most 1,950 Platinums being built for the remainder of the year. That number goes down if those orders also wanted the HO 6.7L, tonneau cover, 5th wheel prep, power boards, and tremor package. I wonder if a more realistic number is 1,000 get built, so a 1 in 10 chance our orders get picked up.

I'm half debating deleting the tonneau cover and seeing what happens. It's an easy thing to add afterwards, albeit a bit more expensive, but it isn't necessarily something I need right away. 5th wheel prep on the other hand, seems like a pain to add afterwards, but it looks like about half of orders with this option will get picked-up, so I'm thinking of keeping this option.

Right. Our chances are pretty slim. I was thinking more towards the 1600 mark just because of the other constraints and things like that...
I really don't have anything that's holding up my order other than being a platinum and I believe I have the power boards for my little kids.
Zach at Granger said we should know in the next 30-45 what orders won't be picked up.

Still nothing on Lariat ordered 10/28/2022. Original order of no 5th wheel prep, no tonneau cover, and no power boards. I'm starting to believe it is the dealer allocations that are the hold up.

Hate hearing all the buyers having to wait so long for any movement on their orders, especially with the higher trims and even more for those with 22MY rollovers to 23’s and still waiting. I was lucky and had a positive experience. Fingers crossed FoMoCo improves their custom ordering process and deliveries asap. Thanks to this thread for sharing all their situations, it helped me through my ordering process. Picking this beast up today! Cheers.

Same '23 order here. I'm not removing anything. My '22 Plat has everything I ordered so not going backwards just to get a '23.

All I have received are Dear John letters from Ford and I haven't gotten one of those in over a month. Anyway I'll let it roll over to a '24. Even if it gets built I'm not taking a '23 YM at the end of '23 as I trade trucks too often and year does make a difference on resale.

I still plan on taking mine if Ford does not remove much more even if it is built on the last day of the model year. I keep vehicles for many years so a year difference in the model does not make much difference to me. I am however not taking it without 5th wheel prep and probably not without the power running boards because my SO is vertically challenged.

It's crazy to think that Ford has sold 310,538 F-series trucks through May. Sadly, it doesn't give a breakdown of the different lines so no way of knowing how many of these were F250/F350. If they keep this pace up, they could likely get to about 800K-825K for the model year since they'll likely be recording sales for the 2023s through the end of the year due to the time it takes to get delivered once produced.

I dont believe any 2023's were sold in January or February, possibly even March as they werent released to sell due to not being EPA certified. I cant find the date, but it was mid to late March I thought.

So for January/February if there are any superduty sales in those numbers they are the last of the 2022 production trucks.

I was thinking the same thing. If ford sells 300k trucks through dealer orders, but only produces and delivers 100k…

I think to @rjacobs point is that sales may not accurately reflect production data as it may include units made from the prior model year. Plus, the start and end dates are different depending on the level / plant... I think they started making F-150s sooner and don't know when they end production for the model year. I also anticipate they make more F-150s then Super Duties.

Regardless, Ford makes and sells a massive number or trucks each year. Selfishly, I wish retail orders had greater priority over stock and fleet, but those (fleet in particular) account for a much greater percentage of profit over the retail orders. With lower trims being so much more expensive, I do wonder what the comparative profitability of the KR, Platinum, Limited are to the XL/XLT/Lariat. Does Ford really leave a lot of profit on the table by not making higher end trims or does it not make much of a difference what the mix of trims are of their annual volume?

I suspect they make at least 2x as many F150's as Superduties simply based on that, but obviously thats an overly broad assumption.

I think the KTP can build at max capacity just shy of 9k superduties per week(that number came from discussions that took place last year). So they have a theoretical max output of like 468k trucks. They have a few weeks per year where the factory is closed, I think its 8 total IIRC, so 396k trucks. Thats a lot of trucks, but I wonder when the last time they actually hit that number was? Guessing 2017-2019 as overall Ford trucks built were ~900k in those 3 years vs. ~700k starting in 2020. All I can find is 2021 numbers of 313k trucks produced for SuperDuty. That year had almost 500k F150's built.

Only 200 miles in, but I’m loving the truck. The interior is beyond nice. The ride is quiet and smooth. It has the 6.6L gas with the Allison 10 speed transmission (2024).

That's exactly what I'm looking at. 24 2500 HD AT4 6.6L gas. I love that they brought the 10 speed to the gasser in 24MY. I didn't like the 6 speed. Shifted really rough.

I am a loyal person. We buy all our vehicles from the same dealer and we buy frequently. I am getting very frustrated with Ford and the way they are handling the orders of 2023 Super Duties. Why offer the High Output diesel engine if you KNOW you can't build them? Same with all the other accessories. Just sounds like poor business. I ordered a F350 King Ranch with the High Output diesel engine and the power running boards on it. I ordered the day the order banks opened. I don't have a production date and from what some of yall are saying on here, it sounds like I may never get one. Very frustrated!

Sorry for a lack of sympathy... I ordered a 2022 in November of 2021 and never got it. Finally getting it as a 2023 here in another week or so...supposedly. I wont believe it until I am driving it. So... 20 months give or take hahaha.
