Tremor & Four Wheel Camper

I put my 2007 Hallmark Guenella refurbished in my 2021 Tremor a few weeks ago. I liked the camper so didn’t trade up to a new one. It fit like a glove it the Tremor. Very happy on my decision.

Tremors were made for these campers. I used to haul this same camper with a Tundra, the difference is night and day. The Tundra involved some white-knuckle driving when passing semi trucks. Now you can barely tell that it’s back there. Such a great truck.

I really want to get one of these campers. Is it big enough, or do you wish it was bigger?

Hawk is fine for me size wise. People throw Grandbys in a 6.75' bed and just set the overhang on the tailgate.

It is perfect! It has room for three. These are the way to go unless you need to haul a lot on the roof. It is not too heavy, and the truck drives as if nothing is back there. Crosswinds are not an issue.

I’ve gone the overhang route before and do not recommend it. Buy a camper made for the bed length. It will ride much smoother and more secure.

Note: I also have the rollover couch option and the king size bed option.

Thanks for the feedback! We're going to go to Woodland soon and check these out first hand. I want to take road trips to the coast now and then, tow the boat and camp at any variety of places. I think a 4W would be the bomb!

I ordered my F250 Lariat Tremor without the spray in bedliner due to possible factory delay. I also have the FWC Hawk on order (January 2022). I am thinking of not doing the spray in bedliner anymore, but instead will just put a horse mat. From your experience with this Tremor and FWC (slide in) set up, do I need to have the spray in bedliner? TIA.

After 20k+ miles with the camper since last August I started to feel rear springs are not holding as much as before. Fully loaded it almost sits on the overload springs and going over bumps is pretty rough.

I ordered Hellwig's rear sway bar (PN7845) which I think will help over all ride, but I am trying to decide between Hellwig's helper spring kit LP-35 (PN3511) that replaces only the overload spring, or replacing rear springs all together with a custom leaf spring set from Alcan designed for the heavier load.

Hello Rolando, how are those rear springs holding up? I am planning to have my Hawk on the Tremor full time.

I would get it line-X'd. The horse mats are unnecessary, and at least the 3/4" ones from Tractor Supply are 100lbs each, so if you put two for 1.5", do you really need to be carrying around 200 extra pounds all the time?

I went to the FWC factory in woodland to get them to add extra wooden stringers/runners under my hawk to save the weight and lift it 1.5" like recommended, and a their head tech said the height was perfect and not to change a thing, that is, I shouldn't worry about the top front of the camper flexing into the moonroof. They ended up putting some very thin mat under there without me asking. It supposedly weighs much less.
