I use the ones that FWC sells but I hear Brophy steps have an easier setup, they just hook on, they don't use pins.

Great package. My F350 Tremor and Hawk flatbed are identical to yours and on order. 6mo on the truck and 55 weeks for the camper. Wait time is going to be tough. But two questions meanwhile: 1) Does your seriusxm and gps antenna work with the overhang; and 2) were you able to use the backup camera off the original box?

I understand you were able to use the camera from the tailgate? If so…how easily removed, and how did you mount it? Did you fabricate some type of protective box for it?

I don't think it was difficult but I didnt do it. the installer did. Here'sa pic.

I like the interior! Where is the electrical connection?

"The connection to the truck is installed on the driver's side in the truck bed.
As well, the eye bolts to tie to the truck are installed in the truck bed...."

A couple more questions if you don't mind;
Any details/links on how you tied the camper to the inside of the truck bed?
Did you plug into the electric connections already in the bed (5th wheel setup) or drill a hole?

I have a hawk flatbed and yes, full time tow/haul mode. It helps with engine braking.

from the manual: Tow/Haul – For improved transmission operation when towing a trailer or a heavy load. This mode moves upshifts to higher engine speeds to reduce the frequency of transmission shifting. This mode also provides engine braking in all forward gears, which slows your vehicle and assists you in controlling your vehicle when descending a grade. The amount of downshift braking provided varies based on the amount you press the brake pedal.

Towing my 8500+ lb TT I find the Tow Mode too aggressive with the downshifts on descents. I will often pop the shifter into Neutral. I've never noticed the engine braking probably because the tranny revs drown it out. On a big descent I will have the Engine Brake on Auto or Manual if it is a steep one anyway.

There should be a Tow Mode Lite and a Heavy IMHO.

Interesting. I have the 7.3 with no engine brake selector so tow mode is the only way I can use it and works well my my use.

I'm not saying it doesn't work well. I just wish I could dial it back.
In rolling terrain I will take it out of Tow Mode so I can fly him like
a glider and use my potential energy gained on the climbs
employing the engine brake as needed.

Thanks, mostly local NJ, NY, VT, PA, MD until we retire in a couple years then heading further south and west for extended trips.
