Where are you are you in snow and ice country ?FWIW I’ve been running the frame style PIAA Super Silicone for quite a while on my current truck, and a number of years on my previous truck, with good success. I don’t think the I-Beam style are necessarily better.
Can’t explain it, mind you, but I’m happy with my framed blades.
Live in the Seattle area, so lots of rain through the winter season, moderate heat in the summer (we top out around 100 for a week during a heat wave).Where are you are you in snow and ice country ?
Just curious I’ve found for me anyway the I beam style seems to work better in snow and ice as far as getting caked up and turning into a frozen block lolLive in the Seattle area, so lots of rain through the winter season, moderate heat in the summer (we top out around 100 for a week during a heat wave).
I make regular trips into the Cascade mountains during winter for skiing and SAR, though, definitely hitting winter there. Also go back to Canada (specifically BC), east of the same mountain range and across two passes to get there, where I’ve had those blades in winter storms and down to -30 for a week plus.
Agree with this.Just curious I’ve found for me anyway the I beam style seems to work better in snow and ice as far as getting caked up and turning into a frozen block lol
Gotcha lol. I haven't noticed any issues a few whacks into the windshield hasn't taken care of before driving off. Never had an issue with them building up while driving.Just curious I’ve found for me anyway the I beam style seems to work better in snow and ice as far as getting caked up and turning into a frozen block lol
Good video for what it is, but starting with a perfectly clean windshield and brand new wipers I would expect even the worst wipers to do well. Will be interesting to see longer term feedback, on varied windshield conditions.
The Heavy Duty blades in F-Series size are $21 each, and add $10 for shipping for a pair which makes them the same price as I paid for my Bosch icons with Amazon Prime free shipping. If I order a second pair for another vehicle or to put away in the garage as a future replacement set, that makes the shipping free which makes them price competitive within a few bucks each of any decent quality blade I'd consider. If double blades really were all that special, every blade manufacturer would use them, unless of course there's patent protection. A quick search shows that idea aged out a long time ago.
Replacing your blades more often seems like a smarter way to spend your money.
This is what intrigued me the most about the Scrubblades when I saw them first. I am one of those lazy people who uses my windshield washers to clear off my windshield in between more formal washes rather than breaking out the hose and scrubber and there's nothing more annoying than when the truck is parked and it get's bird crap or something on it that bakes on, or when it's full of bugs on a long road trip, and all the wipers do is just smear it around unless you use practically half of the washer bottle. The Heavy Duty blades in F-Series size are $21 each, and add $10 for shipping for a pair which makes them the same price as I paid for my Bosch icons with Amazon Prime free shipping. My interest is not in stretching the life of the blades, but what works best against debris at all times of the year, snow/slush/road spray, heavy dust, and heavy bug splatter would be most relevant for me. If they do an excellent job on that stuff, I'm fine with replacing them every year.
Your milage may vary.![]()
Super SiliconeWhich piaa’s are you using
I'll take "less elegant" if performance is significantly better (function definitely beats form for these).HD Scrub blades arrived and put on. Definitely not as elegant looking as my previous Bosch ones, but hoping they work better. Couple of photos of driver perspective and exterior.

They definitely have more resistance on the glass now compared to before, being there's two rubber strips contacting now, per blade, in addition to an open frame design.I'll take "less elegant" if performance is significantly better (function definitely beats form for these).

Could be fentanyl...I've had a few deliveries lately where they included hard candy. I thought it was done by some to confuse delivery companies or postal workers as to what is in the package, but find the trend just odd. For those that are adding it for other reasons, what makes them think anyone would want random pieces of candy that's been bouncing around a package?? I just toss the candy in the trash. Just seems wasteful to me.
