What’s in your gun safe?

There's a old song that goes...you got to know when to hold them..know when to show them and no when to walk away. I follow the law and respect my rights too and what's in my safe is a need to know bases only. You got a nice safe tho :)

My buddies usually go out for deer, elk, and bison. Most have .300 win mags. I’m just looking for more opinion to form my own.
Are you going to ever hunt with a supressor? If so go with a 308. I like my 300 WM but it has a 26" barrel add a 7" can and its a PIA to hike with. You loose the least amount of speed chopping down a 308. Had this setup for about a year...killed critters out to 425 yards.
Plus most 300 WM are heavy.

Barrett Fieldcraft 18" 308 topped with Leupold Vx-6hd 42mm on Spartan Javelin Bipod with rugged radiant can, With 5 rds of 180gr NP in the mag and sling it's just over 7.5lbs...Hiked with it for 80miles in two weeks hunting NM this yr.

No idea exactly but to many to mention. Same as knives. Will be passing down to kids and grandkids some day.

I would like to have a pour in there with you. What a beauty!!
I can only take credit for the build. This a good friend of mine and we built his house last year and he wanted a gun room for his collection. The bourbon is overflow from the bar we built.

If you're ever down this way we will certainly head over for a couple of pours...

You did an amazing job - it’s beautiful! That sounds like a plan!

Does anyone have an ATN thermal scope? Looking at one for my AR-10. I have some coyotes on the “farm” being a bit problematic.

Can’t speak for that model. I have a Flir scope and it’s awesome, they don’t sell them anymore. I say get one.

FLIR is the bomb. I’ve used some of their handheld devices in the past. Wow!

I have a few nice things tucked away - but by far my favorite is my Winchester Model 12 shotgun - it was my Dad's - he bought it new in 1945, right before he left for the Army (was money he got after basic training). For his 90th Birthday I had it fully reconditioned as a gift for him- he was so happy when he opened it. When he was 93 (2020) I was over at his house and he tells me, "your Mother doesn't think I need this shotgun anymore, so I would like you to have it". I was all smiles (but my brothers were pissed :ROFLMAO: when I told them).

In the price range your looking, bering optics is a much better option. The super hogster is the best bang for the buck. Its a little more at 3k but is honestly the cheapest thermal I would consider. Everything below it and quite a few above it are just plain frustrating. You really have to get in the mid 7k range before you find anything that outshines it.
