🛠️ What did you do to your Tremor today? [2026 edition]

I designed and created my own upfitter wiring box that mounts to the top of the passenger side 12v battery utilizing the battery mount. All the upfitter switches are wired inside with grounds, so all my future accessories can just plug right in. Now I need to get more accessories as I only have a two way radio connected to Aux 6.

I might redesign the top cover of the box with a Ford logo engraved in it and Aux 1-6 engraved next to each plug. Different day project.

Got the Spare replaced with a factory Tremor wheel and did an early Rotate today at 4800 miles. I enjoy servicing these cool machines but I do have a business to run so my wife convinced me to lay the guys the $50 every 5k miles. Not to mention they can get it done in under 10 minutes and it takes me …… significantly longer lol



ETA the oem TPMS read the proper wheel pressure after 2 or so miles. No programming or learning required.

Discount Tire does rotations for free...... Around here I make an appointment on line, show up and walk across the parking lot to Twin Peaks for lunch. Easy Peasy and no $$$

Not handy, but here’s what it looks like from the files.

The plugs clip into the bottom tray, and get sandwiched in between with the top cover. All plug holes have a paper thin piece of filament to maintain dust proofness of the box if not all plugs are installed. Can be easily knocked out to install plugs as needed, or knock them all out at once and install all 6 plugs.

The upfitter wires enter through the large hole at the bottom with an installed grommet, and pinned to each connector. I then have 1 large ground wire that enters the box through the side, and splits into 6 smaller grounds that is pinned to each connector. The smaller hole on the bottom is where it slides onto the battery tray bolt, and a nut put on to hold it in place.

I chose to install all 6 plugs (even though I only have 1 accessory currently), and plugged in the other end of the connector with some heat shrink on it so no dust gets in.

I’ve also modified the top of the box to have Aux 1-6 written on it, just haven’t printed it yet.

Do you know that Open Trail Creations (OTC) makes one that's available to order? Very nice unit and I am very happy with mine.

Yeah, I’ve been looking at his for a few months now, but I wanted to play around with a different design where all the wires were contained in an enclosure, with grounds. I didn’t want wires hanging around or 6 different grounds going to my battery.

This solution isn’t just get an extension of the one upfitter wire, but a complete plug and play solution to adding accessories.

I do like the ground setup on yours. I am effectively out of room with my battery having two 2 gage wires (winch, rear winch) and my rear lights, and rear winch solenoid. The latter two I should ground to the chassis. I am doing the OTC kit soon and adding my M&R light bar, so I will likely redo some of the grounds. I originally thought the solenoid and rear lights would be fine, but there's not much room on the OEM terminal.

Even if you didn’t buy the tires from them? Wish I had one close. All the chains are 45mins plus.

I bought the negative bundle from OTC too. I CAN build things but as I mentioned before, I have to do a better job job of remembering my hourly rate- I like to be hands on but gotta choose my battles.
