Washing big ass trucks…

Did you do the wax, too? Literally just pulled the trigger on the shampoo & wax.
Post an update of your first use. Chicago area weather has gone back to hell and is all over the place so I’m not sure when I’ll get a chance to use after I order.

Thanks I have the wash and wax in Amazon cart… plan to try this combo as well for simplicity of use.
dont forget the foam cannon. This one works great with the Swift shampoo

On a non-ceramic coated car?

Thanks I have the chemical guys bigmouth foam cannon (got as gift last year) honestly looks similar to this. I love the chemical guys one as it is very heavy duty (the sprayer and dial) and lays foam super thick.

If anything I’ll need to keep an eye out for a bunch of drying towels for this beast of a truck lol

Clean Jeep, filthy Tremor

I foam cannon and rinse my mitt in a buckeI, I use Chemical Guys soap then follow up with Mothers CMX ceramic spray. Have used CMX for years, my wires car got spray with white overspray at her work and the body shop said it came practically wiped off. It also gave the paint depth, I have used it on my glacier-gray Tremor and works great. I will put a coat on every weekend for 3-4 weeks to build up the product. Its easy to apply you spray it on and wipe it off.

Trying to find an oversized car wash. Not sure the height of my truck yet, I am adding 37" and Carli Back Country 3.5". Hard to find overall height. I think I should be under 7'6".

If you are under 8’ most carwashes can handle it.

Just found one today 7' 6" clearance. My truck measures 7' 3" today! Cleaned up well!

Admittedly Im nuts but I usually pre rinse the truck, foam gun, rinse with fresh water, 2 bucket method, rinse.

So far, Im a big fan of all the Adams stuff as Ive found it all to be the best performing of the big brands. The tier 2 or tier 3 niche stuff probably performs better but it can be harder to source and I dont want to have to go to 3-6 different sites just to get washing stuff. The Graphene line for sure makes a difference.

Regardless of what products you are using, the Great White towels from Adams are so great on these big trucks. Once my father and my father in law used them they immediately ordered a bunch. I think you probably need only 3-4 to get an entire stock truck tried, compared to 4000 normal sized micofibers. I also replaced all of my wash mits (except wheel mit) with the Adams Wool Wash pad (per the recommendation of a few detailers) and its been nice. If they wash supercars with it, I think my truck is just fine.

(I am not affiliated with Adam's Polishes, and pay full retail each time).

I highly recommend Twin Peaks car washes. Their attention to detail is amazing.

From top to bottom, front to back, in and out and in and out and, I mean, it's just unbelievable! The suction from these hoses is better than any Dyson I've ever used. And the way they clean your wheels-best rim job ever! The awesome part is when they blast their foam. You think your truck got snowed on.

Once they squirt all that foam off, they do a two-step drying process. They hand-job dry it then they blow it. Let me tell you, it's truly the only way you should have your truck washed. Now depending on the size of your tip, they will go will the extra mile to wax it with the best lube on the market.

I don't want to go into too much detail but if you can, please support your local ladies and visit Twin Peaks car wash today 🤪.

What are you guys using on your tires? Lemon Pledge has always been a staple in the detailing box. Everything from airplanes, motorcycles, cars/trucks, boats, etc. I actually hate it on furniture lol. On tires, it settles to a deep black after a day or so, not super glossy, and mud falls right off. Lasts quite a while too.

Until someone mentioned Swift touchless soap and the feedback that followed, I never would have given touchless soaps the time of day. Turns out it works pretty darn well. Anyone have a miracle product for tires that doesn't leave them super glossy?
I like Car Guys wheel cleaner and then tire shine. Seems to last longer too.

I can't bring myself to use a Glossy Tire Shine on my Truck. Griots Garage has a Satin Tire Shine in a aerosol spray that leaves the tires looking clean. Occasionally Advance has them on sale 2 for $10.

I'm in the same nuts cleaning schedule as @gmoon with a pre-rinse, foam cannon, rinse, foam cannon, one bucket with a grit guard, then final rinse all done with a pressure washer (turned down for lower psi). Truck alway has mud on it and pre rinse and first foam cannon soap-down get the mud off before putting a wash mitt on the truck. Been using the "cheap" Meguirs Gold Class soap and love how it works in the foam cannon.

For everyone that washes their truck themselves, INVEST in a On-The-Go Dionizer. I do all the washing and rinses with normal tap water, and then the final rinse with dionized water. Walk away from the truck and it is spotless with no water spots (and our water SUCKS in NJ with heavy minerals). Can get the entire wash process, including the entire underbody of the truck done in an hour due to not needing to dry. Plus it's one less possibility of scratching the paint.

And they take care of your truck too. Which is a bonus

Caved to this fkg thread like drinking at prom peer pressure. Purchased the swift touchless wash and ceramic rinse to give it a shot, verdict is still out but my truck was filthy from winter weather (probably 6mo since it's been washed) so the 'apply full strength and rinse after 3 minutes' was not as good as i had hoped. HOWEVER, I will say this, it cut the grime, road tar and other shit where just going over it 2-3x with the wash mitt and it just went away vs having to use say bug and tar remover (Griots product). I'm gonna keep going through the gallon jug but might be swapping from ChemGuys. I need a fire ass wheel cleaner now, what you hoes got?
