Warning for San Marcos Tx.

This is so sad to hear. I hate thieves, I mean doesn’t everyone? Anyway I think things are bad enough that any of these vehicles needs a Ravelco or some sort of additional anti theft device installed. It sucks but at least they’re extremely likely to just move onto a different target.

Definitely looking into a ravelco now

Do it! One of the very first things I did.

Sorry for your loss. A damn shame.

Having travelled in MX quite a bit, I think its worthwhile to note that this type of bullshit is not representative of ordinary mexican folks, but of the criminal network above and below the border, tied in with the Cartel.

Living in San Diego part time (just 45 min from the border) I have this same concern. I try to mitigate it with the Ravelco system and a police working dog during errand runs. While not everyone can get (or wants) a working dog, the Ravelco is a great solution. I need to improve my system by adding some big flood lights on my house too.. The google camera systems our friends have are bright as s*** and the AI based camera is rad.

I like your solution @BeastDad_04 regarding the chime is someone gets in the driveway.

"Lighting" from Banks Power & the Truck Show Podcast installed these the other day at his house in LA after some attempted (or maybe even successful thefts). Seems ridiculous but for those of use that dont have a property big enough to warrant a gate or we live in a state where criminals are fearless, its not a bad idea... As he alludes to, there is somethign for the visual deterrent...since the bastards have to break the window and try to start it before the Ravelco really does its job.

A 9mm cant hurt either... 😜 🔫

Maybe things will get better in the future with policy changes. Make Criminals Scared Again!

How are they getting these trucks across the border? I feel like border patrol and customs could do a better job of checking registration and ID. Check vin against the system. Probably paid off a few BP agents.. fucking scum

I installed a switch to open the start signal wire going to the starter. Nothing is 100% but I promise you they won't have enough time to look for the switch, I installed the switch when my dealer sent me to Dallas for training. Too much talk about Superduty's being stolen in Texas for me not to try and prevent mine from being stolen at school.

I don't agree with you in reference to paying off BP agents. Yes, there are corrupt agents, but in this instance there would have to be too many involved. There are cameras that capture the license plate, registrations are processed usually by the time the vehicle reaches the agent. It all boils down to man power. Law enforcement today are not afforded the time or resources to do their job effectively. Hopefully cops can be cops again come the new year!

Also the scrutiny of customs is not encountered entering into Mexico, it is when you enter the US. As with this instance the truck was already in Mexico by the time op realized it was stolen.

These trucks are likely across the border before they're entered as stolen, so checking VIN's wouldn't matter. These criminals aren't stopping at McDonalds once they procure your truck, they're making a B-line for the border as soon as the wheels are turning.

You obviously don't have a clue other than what the lib media tells you.

The last time I drove across the border into Mexico I hardly stopped. There are zero Americans checking anything that is going out and the Mexicans are certainly not concerned with whether or not the vehicle you are in happens to be your own.

Yeah, so there is a "free-trade" zone from one end to the other, Gulf to Pacific. It extends in both directions, North to South, for several miles. This is why there are check points on the way back from the border. So, going across the boarder is not difficult in either direction. They're supposedly checking for all the other stuff, not stolen vehicles.
