Upfitter Wiring Harness Discussion

I added myself to the list after hearing about this harness from @gmoon who said that he saw it after @TRAMPER posted about it. Looking forward to whenever these will be ready!
 
OK, so i have pricing back. it also looks like the wait list has filled up quite a bit in the last week or so and we are almost at 50 orders anyways.

the new revision will have the following changes unless a bunch of people step up here and express desire for something different:

  1. extended the ground leads by 6"
  2. increase wire lengths on the connector side of the harness by 2" so that connectors have the ability to spread out a little more.
  3. removed the PTO/B+ connections
  4. added a butt connector to the ends of the positive legs for the harness and both legs of the pigtails(no more solder shrinks that everyone hates) this just means people need to own a pair of crimpers.

I'm going to update the product listing and ill hold off on going live for a couple days in order to allow people to see this post and provide any feedback.

I think all these changes look good to me.

That said, I don't know what all I am missing by the removal of the PTO/B+ connections, but maybe someone else can chime in on what they've used these connections for?

They are in the way and not good for anything. Be happy you won’t get them. Lol. This vendor is SOLID because he takes feedback and listens.

I have the first iteration and I’m not at all unhappy with it. But the 2nd version is gonna be PERFECT!!! I do consider it an almost essential upgrade if you plan to use your Upfitters. Makes wiring so easy and swapping your loads around as needs change is great!

Thanks for the input, TRAMPER! I am excited to put this harness to work.

@Cblaxx19, I'll be changing my order on the Excel sheet from 1 set to 2.
 
I hope these can be used on the 2022-older vehicles.

I can’t think of anything that would stop them. The wiring is super simple. There (will be) 6 red wires (hot) to land on your six Aux wire switches.

You have to look at the bundle and decode the colors/ stripes as to which labeled plug goes where. IE Aux 1 label with the corresponding color wire from your truck.

Slide in a piece of shrink tubing crimp on a butt connector. Shrink the tubing over the connection and repeat. Land the common ground lug on your truck and you’re done.

The kit will have six plugs with ~8” black and red tail off them. Connect that plug to whatever load you have and plug it into the switch of your choosing and done!

@Cblaxx19 will you be including shrink wrap with these? If not that would be something people will need to pick up.

i believe i will be including precut shrink tubing. trying to iron out the details but that would make sense.

Makes me kinda want to order a Gen 2 just to see the differences lol. It really is a great setup! Thanks for listening to us.
 
Changes look good. I’m have a BMC fog light kit that I’m ready to wire up.

Oh man, maybe I missed something. I thought this was for the 2022-older models (honestly, I didn't realize there was a change, at least in this area, for the 2023+ models)?

I read Tramper's reply and this makes sense in my head, but just to be extra sure, @Cblaxx19 can you confirm that these wiring harnesses will work on 2022 MY trucks? Both sets that I signed up for are intended for 2022 trucks.

From looking at some YouTube videos of each, it looks like the upfitter wires are located next to the battery on both the 20-22 and the 23+ in essentially the same spot.

Unless I’m missing something, I don’t see why the harness wouldn’t work on the 20-22 trucks in the same fashion as it does on 23+.
 
soooo......do we need 1 more to sign up? what would the current lead time be? give or take?
 
Added myself to the list for #50. I have the Gen 1 installed on a 23'. Love the Harness but sightly longer ground and dropping off the PTO wires as I have no use for them works great for the other truck I'd like to do.
