Tremors and Campers let's talk camping!!

Our new trailer, Jayco Eagle HT 312bhok has not arrived yet and we had a trip planned to take kids to climb Enchanted Rock and weekend in Fredericksburg Tx. Have been good friends with owners of dealership and they let me borrow a RV for the weekend. Towed without a WD hitch an no other sway control. Pulled great and no problems. Will have WD and sway on new RV when it arrives. Avg 16.2mpg’s for the trip.

Enchanted Rock is awesome! We hiked it last fall and the view on top are amazing.

Yesterday was brutal, driving from NE Nebraska to south of Denver hauling the Truck Camper in really high winds with gust over 50 mph. The sections where we were dealing with cross winds, had to drop the speed below 55. Still getting great mileage out of the 7.3L, total trip up through the Black Hills and Badlands averaged 10.8 mpg, was at 11.2 mpg prior to the winds. Overall I am at 11.9 mpg lifetime with 11715 miles driven. At least 75% of miles hauling 12200 GVW in the Mountain West.View attachment 6853

We went across the oposite way last week from Oregon to Wyoming to Iowa, brutal fires and winds. Did you modify your suspension?

Yes, I am done for now. Airlift Bags and Hellwig sway bars. I may do Carli springs and Fox shocks and stabilizer eventually. Want to get some wider tires, I think Ridge Grapplers in 38x13.50R20LT E ply may help plant it a little better.

Doesn't look like the only one that the wind blew over. The trailer on the other side of the red box trailer looks to be on its side too. Sucky day for all. Saw this happen a few years back when the owners left it for the day with the awning up. Wind picked up and laid it over on its slide....
