Might little shotgun rider. She's a chocolate lab pointer mix, so they say. I think she's more a mutt than anything. But she's the best dog we could have asked for from a rescue. She loves her heated/cooled seat in the truck.

Great name for a water dog. Labs have to be one of the smartest dogs out there. My dad used to raise labs, we had them around us our entire life. Some are so easily trained and some stubborn as an ox.

Labs are the best. We got an awesome one. Here she is at three months old. Unfortunately I haven’t had much time to take her hunting.

We would train them for bird hunting with a wing of (I think) a pheasant. We could hide it somewhere in the house or yard and tell them, "Go find it". They found it every single time. Amazing nose. As for hunting, training to stay still after the shot was interesting, after a while, they would get really excited and want to run into the field as soon as they heard the shot. The "stay" part was a challenge sometimes.

That is one of the biggest challenges for sure. This one learned pretty quick to hold her place until her name was called.

My GSD (RIP) loved the elk antlers. It's a better match for such a powerful chewer.

Our Corgi received a split elk antler in her Christmas stocking. The dried marrow and her extra long and fine fur combined into a horrible mess when chewed. I won't fall for that again.

I have hunted all my life. As a result, I have an embarrassingly large pile of small whitetail antlers to share with our Corgi.

He is no hunting dog, but he loves a good scavenger hunt! Found this in the big pile of snow at the driveway/ road. Plow truck must have collected it along the way. Took him 10 minutes to pull it out. Had to let him bring it home. The wife was not amused.
