Toyo RT Pro vs Nitto Ridge Grappler vs Toyo Mt

It seems 38s have become the new 37s didnt realize this many of you here were running 38s

I recently installed the Toyo RT Pros in 38x13.50r18s and love them. I had them road force balanced and none of the tires needed any weights to balance. If there was a 12.50 wide I would have probably gotten those or the 11.50s if I had the oem wheels on my truck.
Those 38s look great on your truck!!

Put Stock size RT trails on about 30K ago and those babies like to talk when they get about half tread gone. I am at 8/32 and ready to get new shoes. Looking at Falkens.

Im gonna avoid the diva discussion as I value performance over appearance.😅 No experience with Toyo's on a truck. They do make phenominal race tires for cars though!

I have a set of Ridge Grapplers on a Gen 1 Raptor and I absolutely hate them. Im trying to burn em up so I can get them off my rig! Many love em though. I run in the southwest...CA, AZ, NM and TX. Very light snow and mud, lots of sand. To me, the compound is to hard. If you spin the tires on a rock or board they melt kinda like plastic and get slicker as they melt. Normal tires turn to grippy melted rubber and grab better as they melt but not the Nitto's. Many rave about the tread life. They last longer because theyre a harder tire. Nitto's also "chunk" in sharp rocks like lava fields in the desert. Chunks of the tire may come off. The tread pattern looks cool i guess. Ive gotten better offroad performance out of BFG AT's then i have with the Grapplers. Having no experience with Toyo's, id go with them before i went with Nitto's.🇺🇸

THANK YOU! You may have just saved me from a near-disaster. I'm so horny for a set of five 37 X 11.5 X 18 that I was about to cave to the RG.

Until I learned more about the tire's compound (thank you for your contribution), the tread pattern ALONE bothered me. It is only "not as bad" when narrowed up to fit the 37 X 11.5 section width. I consider the RG one of the ugliest tread patterns to ever exist (for my tastes in tires, that is).

:ROFLMAO: 😬

Youre very welcome! Nice to be appreciated!🤣 I usually get flamed when i show my disgust for the Grapplers!🤣

I am looking hard at the BFG HT Terrains. For primarily mud and water. Disaster areas usually have similar hazards to construction areas. Highway towing to muddy areas with nails and sidewall ripping debris.

I noticed that too so went with the Falkens. So far I like them.

^ ^ ^ If Falken made the AT4W in a 37 X 11.5 X 18, I would have burned rubber all the way to the tire store.

If BFG! made the KM3 in a 37 X 11.5 X 18, same same.

If ANY TIRE other than the Ridge Grappler and the "Swampthing" were available in a 37 X 11.5 X 18, same same same.

I wanted to keep using my factory Tremor Ebony black/machined 18 X 8 aluminum road wheel, I did.

BUT... they don't.

So... I caved! I caved to the 37 X 11.5 X 17 RECON Grappler, and a set of Vision Flow 351 wheels in matte grey, 8 spoke, machined for a perfect fit on our gens' SRW Super Duty trucks in a 17 X 8.5, +18mm offset.

These should arrive one week from today.

And the RECON Grappler has a similarly-weird, 45* slash in it's mid-tread section, but, oh well. It's the only other 37 X 11.5! so here we go.

While we're wishing, I'll take the Falken R/T01 in a 40x13.50R17 in at least load range 127

@Apples for what it's worth, I just passed 55k on a set of 37x12.5x18 Recon Grapplers. I still have really good tread left (at least 10%). I've been very pleased with these tires, so I'm sure you'll be happy with them.

Don’t forget to come post pics when you get em on!

Anyone with rt pro able to provide any winter driving/snow insight? I live in Chicago suburbs so not insane snow but we do get enough and it gets cold enough I factor it.

Thats what I ended up doing just threw 40x14.5r20 mickey Thompson MTZ on the truck yesterday.
