Tonneau Covers

I went with the Lomax. I haul a gooseneck trailer so I wanted a low profile cover that is easy to remove. Really like it so far.

I'm thinking about this one to go with an Addarac which i can unbolt and remove so it's clean when i don't want the rack for lumber etc.

Here is a video of what you are wanting to do. The cover took me less than 10 minutes to install.

I've seen that and that's part of why i want to do it.
I use my current truck to pick up wood and other building supplies.

I’ll throw another option at you... TruckGear by Linex is a Bakflip MX4 (literally) that is linex coated at the factory. I love mine. And it “locks” when the tailgate is closed. View attachment 17904View attachment 17905

I chose the Undercover Armor flex. Pretty much as you described. Makes me wonder which one is “re-badged”
Covers bed from snow, rain and leaves but removes with 2 knob bolts when I need most of the bed space.

I'd have to go with retractable design if I ever bought a Tonneau cover. Blocking my back window drives me nuts. Also, I would want to retain full access to the steak pockets for installing a headache rack/light bar and bed rails. I've found a couple that I like, but haven't fallen in love with one yet.

I just installed my Sentry CT (canvas material as opposed to leather-grain vinyl) this weekend.

@ICT Tremor - how do you like the canvas? I'm thinking of paying the extra ~$100 for the canvas option but would love your feedback. Totally agree not being able to close the tailgate with the cover closed is not great. I have a Truxedo (not Sentry) on the current truck and I can use the tailgate independently. I'm curious what the issue is with the Sentry. Is it the rear seal or something else?

I just put it on a couple of days ago, so jury is still out on wear and durability. I do like the look.

The seal is rubber and about an inch or so in width. It just sticks out the back edge of the tonneau like a tongue, and lays on top of the tailgate when closed. When you open the tailgate the seal flops down, so when you close the tailgate with the tonneau down it crushes the seal from a front to rear perspective. Not sure if I described that well or it makes sense.

I went with the Bak X4.. I like it.. Looks good, easy to use, and it doesn’t block back window.. Easy to install and very sturdy.

I looked at that one just now... if you don't consider blocking 50% of your window as not being blocked, then I guess not.

The rear seal sits on top of the tailgate instead of the tailgate pressing it in when you close it. I will try to get a pic and post it tomorrow.

I’ve ordered a Gator cover. It’s taking forever to get here.

Is that one of the kind the retracts like a roll up garage door? I just saw one like that on a YT video, but it wasn't this brand. It looked interesting but they didn't say how much space it takes up when it's fully open. I liked the look of it and that it also offered some hard top type rigidity.

i have the lomax like pictured above. Love mine. Low profile, secure, and more importantly for me actually waterproof.

Another vote for the Lomax cover. I’ve had two now, one on my Raptor and the one on my current F250. Very easy to install, remove the whole thing if you need the whole bed and no need to lift it when the tailgate closes. I’ve had mine folded and latched doing 75 on the interstate with no issues. Not completely waterproof going through the car wash, but it keeps out rain for sure. Really happy with the Lomax and you can find them for under $800

I have a Peragon and love it! It's solid aluminum, and folds up on itself like a brochure or accordion, in the bed of the truck, so it's not laying against the back window. Works really well; I have a goose neck installed that I use regularly. You can get it paint to matched or black. Obviously lockable.

Once installed; it takes 1 minute to remove. It has a push button on the passenger side that once depressed, allows you to remove the cover and leave the rails. Re - install is just as easy, just insert the pin back into their slots!

The customer service is exceptional ! There was some damage in shipping, and they sent a whole new cover out (minus the rails) as well as new seals. I highly recommend it!

I've seen a bunch of tonneau covers on here. What's the best? Looking for something low profile but also operates well. Ideally easy to take on and off. Pictures appreciated if you have em!

I got the Ford folding hard cover tonneau, so far, it's perfect. It hides your contents, locks, and folds out of the way when you need to haul something tall. Not perfectly watertight, but pretty good. (My "go bag" & other goodies are in plastic tubs, so a little water is no big deal.)

Sentry CT for me, second truck I’ve had it on. Easy to remove and doesn’t block the window, works pretty well in snow and ice. Only downside is lifting the edge to close the tailgate but once you get used to it don’t even think about it anymore. They all seem to have their trade offs.
