What's up with these type of twister seals? It's like glue. It's says twist and pull but no luck. I end up cutting them off. For reference these are on Costco bagels...

I’d prefer they use a zip tie, at least I can re-use it lol. What's up with these type of twister seals? It's like glue. It's says twist and pull but no luck. I end up cutting them off. For reference these are on Costco bagels...View attachment 141889
I tried using a calling card when I was in Korea on a phone like this that didn't work. I ended up breaking the handle.Had one of those! I thought it was the greatest thing - didn't need a bunch of coinage.![]()
2 openings and 1 holeDoes a straw have one hole or two?
I'll go first.
Been waiting years for the stupid Google streetview car to drive by and update their pics of my street and low and behold, when I least expected it, they drive by yesterday evening.......and now I'll be immortalized on google street view.....in my front yard......on my mower......in my pajamas....![]()
Could be a garage saleWell, for whatever reason, it came by again over the weekend while I was cleaning out the garage and had piles of junk in the driveway; so, now I'll be standing out there looking like a damned meth head with a driveway full of junk...![]()
They got you labeled. They will swing by on a regular basis now to see what crazy thing is happening at the crazy house.Well, for whatever reason, it came by again over the weekend while I was cleaning out the garage and had piles of junk in the driveway; so, now I'll be standing out there looking like a damned meth head with a driveway full of junk...![]()

Interesting in a world where the cost of everything is increasing how things have changed in this arena. Used to be turning the rotors at least once was the economical choice. Last two vehicles I inquired about this - replacing the rotors was the best choice... In neither case did they say there wasn't enough material to machine. I guess the cost of labor is outpacing the cost of replacement parts.Replaced all four brakes on my car yesterday for the first time.......115k and still had about 3-5mm of pad left, rotors were still good but replaced them on principle, they weren't much more $ than the cost of having them turned.
Dealer wanted $250 just for front pads and turning the front rotors. I got all 4 pads, rotors, and hardware for $228 from rock auto.Interesting in a world where the cost of everything is increasing how things have changed in this arena. I quit having rotors turned a long time ago, not because it was cheaper but because if they were warped at full thickness, how long was it going to take to warp them with less material on them. Guess I'm hard on brakes. Loved the Power Stop brand that I put on my old F150. I have 75k on my 21' Tremor, no problems so far and I have had lots of heavy towing. When it comes time to replace, Power Stop again.Dealer wanted $250 just for front pads and turning the front rotors. I got all 4 pads, rotors, and hardware for $228 from rock auto.
As they say "they don't build them like they used to", they probably reduced the rotor thickness to save weight to up the MPG. They say its building things just right, I say its just cheap-assed engineering.Interesting in a world where the cost of everything is increasing how things have changed in this arena. Street tacos are the best but they can be very expensiveOh...and I still love street tacos!![]()
My favorite is when the navigation feels it needs to tell me to continue straight instead of taking some random exit??I’ll put forth a rant about a nitpicky thing that is somehow one of the biggest pet peeves in my life.
When getting turn by turn directions from Apple or Google Maps, they hide the next turn until you’re within 10 miles of it. They just say “Continue for X miles” until you hit that threshold.
What the fuck else am I going to do? Turn before the next turn because you didn’t explicitly tell me to continue on the same road?
Meanwhile I can’t sanity check the next turn to make sure it aligns with my expectations - computers can, in fact, be wrong sometimes. I can’t reference road signs referring to that next turn (maybe as a town name, lane information, or more) well in advance.
All so it can tell me to do what I would do anyways. Continue on the same road.
In a similar vein, these apps have the ability to show the turn after the next one. Yet they inexplicably hide that information unless the app deems the turns are close enough together.
Well screw you. Quite often the turns are farther apart than that threshold and it would be invaluable to have that extra information for lane positioning. Especially when it often takes an extra few seconds after a turn before the system moves to the next one.
One of the most fundamental skills of driving is rejecting unnecessary information. Let me, the driver, choose to reject that information rather than the app being presumptuous and rejecting it on my behalf.
