Regrets…. Hindsight… or Love

You’ll likely want to install it yourself anyway! It seems a rare finding when a dealer has done it correctly. They messed mine up and I’m still waiting on a new synthetic rope b/c they failed to follow their own directions…
Good point! That's brutal you're still waiting. :(

Gooseneck/5th wheel prep and Hitch kit question.

Better to go with the Ford one, or hold off and get something aftermarket?
Keep the 5th wheel prep package, but delete the gooseneck ball kit.

I removed the gooseneck ball from my order in hopes of getting a VIN faster. Can always buy a ball later but can't easily add the 5th wheel prep later.

At the risk of going off topic here...can anyone tell me if the seats on the Platinum are really better than the Lariat? I get that they have the multi-contour and that most people seem to like this a lot. But aside from the massaging feature is the seat (leather feel, comfort, etc) actually much better? I'm trying to figure out where the value is with the Platinum and so far all I can see is that you get the different seats.

Note: I'm comparing Platinum to a loaded Lariat. I know there's a bunch of packages you get automatically when you go with the Platinum. But once you've loaded up the Lariat they seem to have feature parity outside of the seats.
For context I came from a 2013 F150 Platinum. Soooo…I seriously debated this for some time. I finally found a lariat ultimate and a platinum with the black interiors (don’t care for marsalla paired with my choice of paint) parked at the same dealer. Asked dealer to park them side by side and leave me the keys for both and walk away. I then went back and forth for about 30 min looking at every little detail - specifically focused on those things you speak of. I think both seats are crazy comfortable first. I actually prefer the grain and the stitching of the Lariat over the Platy. The million-way seats on the Platy certainly offer you every opportunity to find the exact comfortable position you want/need, especially on long hauls (8-12hrs). That being said the Lariat still has 8-way I believe, (maybe 10-way) and is adequate - only wish I could move the lumbar up and down; it only goes in and out. Some of the other materials are different as well, but not enough to make a difference for me. I’m happy with my Ultimate and love the fact it has a painted tailgate and the black package. Some of the Platinums are damn sexy though!

Figured I’d ask before I place my order this week, anyone regret getting, or not getting any of the options on your Tremor?

Also is there anything that you were on the fence about, that you ended up getting, and now wonder how you lived so long without it?
Thanks!
I wished I would have ordered the pull out step in the tailgate as it was an option on the XLT. But I just take a step stool along if I need to get into the bed easily. I may be 58, but I can still fling myself up in there...LOL

I'm with you - I'll be surprised if I end up using it, but I'm getting it anyway.

And if you don't happen to want to plunk down

Love mine. It's easy peezy. Would definitely do it again.

I checked all the boxes when I ordered mine. no regrets. AND very very glad I got the 2020 pre covid machine.
my advice is to get a Plat and check all the boxes.

Like that! It's a whole lot easier to say, "I could live without xxx", but a real disappointment to learn you want something you opted out on and it's too difficult or expensive to add later. ;) (y) PS - I basically checked every box except some of the after-build bolt on items. I am most pleased with my choice. ?

While my F150 Lariat Ultimate seats were very good my Platties are waaay better. And the massage is great. On a long drive the massage is a safety bonus IMHO - better than a cuppa joe!

I’ve not been inside a Platinum, but I’ll say that the Lariat seats are one of the more under-appreciated assets of this truck.

They’re extremely comfortable. More comfortable than most of the luxury vehicles I’ve owned.

The Platinum seats must be a dream.

I have a platty with nearly every option. My only regret is that I couldn't get a Tremor in the Limited package, and should have gotten the 350 for the extra headroom on the sticker. However, the 350 wouldn't let me have an option that I really wanted. Forgot what that was....

Leave me alone. I'm old and Joe Biden helped me on the decision. He forgot too.

Heated steering wheel is part of the rain sensing wipers (60W). If you want it is up to you but a lot of people miss it. It is not included as part of the lariat ultimate package (should be though).
Literally just caught this today and changed it in my order. $165....seriously, just make it apart of ultimate.

I got a platinum, didn't get the sunroof cuz it broke 3 times on my 250 that got recalled, sometimes I miss it. I wanted the winch but it wasn't available yet when I ordered mine. Adaptive cruise is great definitely get that. I have adaptive steering but if it does anything I don't really notice it, and I've driven ones with out it. Adaptive cruise, clearance lights, gooseneck package and fifth wheel prep, and upfitter switches. I also got the premium vinyl floor which is free on an xl but costs extra on a platinum, I really like it.

I have a 2020 7.3l F350 Lariat Sport Ultimate package, when I order a 2022, it will have the winch and dual batteries. The other thing my 2020 is missing is the Garage Door opener. No adaptive steering, I wasn’t a fan on my 2018.

Does ultimate include LED’s ? I thought that was a separate add?

I kinda struggle with the cost of “Lariat ultimate” just to basically get auto release tailgate and push button start… but, I really do like having the fob in my pocket.
Ultimate does not include LED. That’s the only thing I regret not getting.

I knew mine wasn't going to have the headlights, but I didn't realize it wouldn't have the taillights. Not that it really matters. I didn't even notice for 3 months. But still, it is kind of ridiculous this day in age for a vehicle at this price point to not have LED markers all the way around.

Annoying especially when Ford continuously brags at shareholder meetings about the profit margin in this vehicle line. Feels like that's largely a result of sneaky dark patterns like this.

Most annoying of all is that the LED head/tail/fog package is ~$1200 option, but buying those parts is what ~$5000? Which is why car insurance costs so much these days…

So, this is interesting, I looked at the Build and Price on a 2021 and a lot of stuff that was part of various packages is now additional cost. Here’s the sticker from my 2020. Bedliner and rear wheel liners was part of the Lariat Sport package. I have LED’s and there’s not a separate line for them, I think they were part of the Ultimate package.
