Receiver hitches?

I bought a reducer sleeve from Tractor supply. My F250 has a 3 inch receiver with a 2.5 in reducer. I run a B&W adjustable Tri Ball. I have a lock but rarely leave the hitch or trailer on my trucks.

Forgot about Tractor Supply I keep getting coupons from them. Will have to check out there selection.
Glad to hear you are like me and don't keep the receiver in the truck all the time. It bothers me when people have nasty receivers in there trucks and cars and never take them out or even pull trailers, they just have them there in case they get rear ended.

Here is my 2005 Ram with a nice scar from some bone head that had a trailer hitch. The dumb sh!t was in front of me at a stop light and a semi came around the corner. She put in reverse and backed into me hard. I was just sitting there with my truck and trailer with my skid loader on it. I got a new OEM bumper out of it plus free rental car for a few days. Now back to the Tremor Talk!

My knees have been tenderized enough by the trailer hitch spirits to take that mother off. I am always using my bed and am too absent minded to not hit that mfer. I also don’t like potential for rust w steel on steel and trapped crud. I have had many a moron damage my trucks exactly as you showed, with one getting tagged and spinning into my old two door Tahoe and bending frame. I loved that truck, stick, carbureted as it was a federal parks build, had knockout panels inside and plugs already installed. Had another dumbass destroy the 74 IH Scout I was about to inherit from my grandfather. That one really hurt because we spent years fishing Galveston bay in that truck.

My 350 7.3 came with a 2 1/2" reciever and I'm pretty sure the sticker on it said max tongue weight was 1520 lbs. Payload sticker shows 4054 lbs.

My 6.7L F250 has a 3" receiver.

Does anyone have any experience with the Weigh Safe Hitches?

Yes, I have two of them. I have a F450 that has the 3" hitch, then later added a F250 with the 2.5". High quality products, I have several car trailers and the built in scale allows me to position the cars to get the correct tongue weight without the guessing.

Would anyone who’s gotten their truck mind sharing the distance from the ground to the bottom of the inside of the receiver tube? Trying to figure out what size drop I need. Thanks

My

My F350 has a 3” receiver and came with a 2 1/2” reducer sleeve.
Mine as well. Making a new 3" bumper dumper rather than carrying a bunch of sleeves to get to 2". :ROFLMAO:

I just look at sleeves as one more thing to rattle and rust. I went ahead and got a 3” bulletproof extreme 8” drop/rise hitch.

I skid logs with my hitch when cutting firewood so no aluminum ones for me.

I got about 21 inches to the base of the receiver. 6.7 f250

I wonder why you’re 1 1/2 inches lower than Tom B? The engine and tire pressure differences couldn’t make that much of a difference, could they?

not sure. I'll measure again when i get home. I doubt that tire pressure would make that big of a difference.

My F350 6.7 with the diamondback hd cover on it measures in at 21 1/4” at the inside bottom edge of the receiver.

It squats another 1/8” with the 90lb bulletproof hitch in place. A 7” drop perfectly levels our trailer when it is attached to the truck.

I purchased a bulletproof 8”adjustable drop/rise hitch just in case the rear of the truck lowered a bit more under a different (heavier) load.

Make sure to factor in your specific trailer tongue height and amount that your truck squats when it is attached when measuring what drop “YOU” need. I believe an 8” adjustable drop on our stock height Tremor will cover all bases.
