The IOLM will hit a point based on time where it will drop the remaining life quickly. I think if you hit 1 year, even with low miles, it will signal a change is required.First oil and filter change done today. Pretty easy to do really.
The oil monitor doesn’t give much warning. By the time I got home there was only 2% left. The trucks only done about 6,500kms. Anyway, it’s done and it’ll be interesting to see how far it goes on this oil.
Wow that's a pretty nice fleet you have there.I finally took a “family photo”. Left to right:
1999 WRX Club Spec Evo 3
2017 Ford Ranger PX2 3.2 litre turbo diesel
2022 Bushtracker 24‘ off-road caravan
2021 Ford F-350 Tremor 6.7 litre turbo diesel V8.View attachment 113473View attachment 113474
2021 8’x5’ dual axle box trailer
2021 dual axle car trailer
Thanks. Each has its own purpose, although the non car people I know can’t understand this!Wow that's a pretty nice fleet you have there.
I’ve ordered and received a Starlink Mini. The plan is to run it in or on the truck. Just working out the best mounting method.
I’ve considered using the moonroof but I’d rather not. I’ve also considered sitting it on the dash next to the windscreen. I’ve heard of people mounting it in the tub under the roof of the canopy. And then there is the option of mounting it on roof racks on the roof of the canopy.do you have a moonroof? i've seen people just wedge a starlink up in their moonroof (on the inside) and it seems to work
a bit pricey, but i'd trust anything from these guys: https://star-mountsystems.com/
they've been in the game a long time. ships from california.

No shortage of ideas here. @TRAMPER has a Star Mount:do you have a moonroof? i've seen people just wedge a starlink up in their moonroof (on the inside) and it seems to work

I've called star mount systems before and they were friendly and helpful with multiple options. Note: i have not purchased their product yet.I’ve considered using the moonroof but I’d rather not. I don’t trust suction caps and obviously magnetic isn’t an option on fibreglass or aluminium. Ive been waiting till today (Monday) for hopefully everyone to be back at work following Christmas/New Year to ring and make some enquires.
It’s ridiculous when the mount costs more than the dish.I've called star mount systems before and they were friendly and helpful with multiple options. Note: i have not purchased their product yet.
The places I called in Australia seemed put off, very expensive, offering one-off services for thousands of dollars for a mount.
I also saw this:
It's not for a mini, but I trust them for whatever they design
Make sure to post some pics! The dcr is next on my list. This morning I drove down to the Gold Coast towing the van. Unhitched, grabbed some lunch and just as I turned into the driveway where I’m staying I got a screw or something right through the tread of the tyre.
I can travel thousands of kilometres of outback roads and not get a single puncture, only to come undone in the city.
So tomorrow I’ll get the tyre repaired and then I can drop the truck in for the DCR pump and get rid of the cats piss and associated problems. A few days in the big smoke- may as well make the most of it and do some shopping. 4 new tyres for the box trailer for a start. Anyway, onwards and upwards. I’ll let you know how things go with the truck.
That’s how it always goes. We’ve driven my wife’s 4runner thousands of miles off road and never had a puncture. Couple months back I was flying home from a work trip and landed at 10pm. Came out to the car to find a giant 3” lumber screw in the rear tire. Somehow picked it up on the way to the airport when I left and no air let out until it was parked for a week. This morning I drove down to the Gold Coast towing the van.
