Picked up my baby today! But with a big issue....

I can handle the roaming. The hard pull on braking is not safe though. Hoping it’s a quick fix and I can move on
Bummer you still felt the wandering even aired down. My wife didn't mention any of that when she drove it home but she may not have realized what it was. Hope everything gets fixed alright and you can be on your way bro.

80psi in the rear on an unloaded truck is like driving solid rubber tires. You're going to need a trip to the dentist to get your fillings put back in.

Agreed. It will about rattle your teeth out with an empty load on the truck at 80 PSI.

I noticed a much improved ride and handling when the tires were set to the factory recomended 60/80. The ride was smooth and I have had no problems ever since. I am sure the engineers at Ford did not just pull this 60/80 tire pressure recomendation out of a hat. They had reasons for it that most likely involved safety and handling. Do you have any well backed up engineering reasons for your recomendations or did you use a hat?

The engineering reason is that’s where it needs to be when you are loaded up to max weight.

In a youtube video I recently watched, there was a guy saying the duratracs are coated with a mold release agent causing the wander. I wonder if there is any truth to that and if there is something available that would clean or break down the 'mold release agent' faster than normal driving.

Makes sense, I actually like mine with 6k on them I am always air up or air down depending ( kind of a PITA )

I Still Can't believe the dealership did not figure out the brake problem. Don't they inspect them before they send them out? for certain its cleaned up didn't somebody notice. Hope its not a problem with something other than the caliper

All tyres have this mould release agent. It only affects the tyres in wet weather where they have less grip in the wet. It soon wears off.

Bones. We are going to have our orders pulled on Thursday. I’m feeling it my man. My dealer said Thursday for sure. Thursday’s they pull orders. It’s been very hard to hear all these orders getting pulled before me. But there’s nothing we can do but be happy for our brothers and grin and bear it.
So hang in there BONES. It’s going happen my Neighbor.
Iron Man, Just got back from my dealer today to take a look at a 2020 Black on Black tremor that just showed up - basically was the truck I ordered but without the font bench seat (which is a must for me) - that black on black is unbelievable. while I was there I got my VIN and build date - it is a go for the first week of November. Dealership stated they think we could have this thing in by mid to late December now.

Bones that is such awesome news. It’s rainy and crappy here on the Island and having some Asshole screw with me on this Forum has made my day pretty crappy. I’ve been in a pissy mood. But You Just Turned My Day Around. I’m working out and feel extra pumped up now. Thanks for that great news. Don’t ever discount the power of prayer my man. Best of luck with your new truck. See if you can test drive the one they have on site.

Congrats on your new truck!!!! I have had 4 or 5 emergency type stops during the last 10K miles....never pulled....and like others have said : air down!

Well congrats on getting it, but it sucks to hear the problems you had driving it off the lot. I'm surprised that brake issue wasn't caught during PDI.

Was the dealership able to get you on your way today?

Just think about kick @ss truck you're getting that should put you in a better mood (just don't think about the price you're paying cause that will make you relapse). I really did want to drive it but the guy that ordered it was there to pick it up and the truck was still in the garage getting it prepared to be released to him. But they do have a 350 velocity blue XLT on the lot (they've had it since February) that i did bring home - just to see if it fit in the garage...

I aired my duratracs down yesterday an MANNN what a difference. No more bouncing vibration going over small bumps and the vibration while driving 65-70 is gone. Wish I would have done it earlier. I went with 55 PSI in the front and 50 PSI in the rear due to the front end weighing a bit more. I rarely tow anything heavy so I should be good. Should I tow something heavy I’ll re- adjust. I went into forscan and changed the paremeters using a hex editor and saved. All is good with no warning and it even updated in the ford pass app.

So today was the day!

I picked up my 2020 350 Lariat Sport Tremor!!

Love the truck. Drives amazing and haven’t noticed any transmission shifting issues.

Here’s where is gets interesting.

I almost wrote the truck off 5 minutes into ownership. Was driving down the highway, hit the brakes as I was approaching a construction zone, and the truck pulled so hard to the right I almost crashed into the guard rail. I mean this thing pulled HARD to the right.

Truck is back at the dealership now with two new front callipers on order. They can’t say if the left is under engaging or the right is over engaging. Either way it was pretty terrifying

All I could think about was “as if im going to write this truck off 5 minutes after taking delivery. And this after driving 2400 km to pick it up and supposed to be driving the same 2400 back tomorrow morning which is going to be delayed.

They are saying the truck will be done tomorrow morning hopefully so we can begin our journey back to the Yukon.

I was wondering if anyone else has had this issue? Heavy and hard pulling to one side while applying heavy brake at highway speed??

Optimistic it’s a calliper issue and a quick fix.

Also, the comments I’ve read about the duratracks are dead on. The definitely wander, but I’ve also noticed they seem super slick and low traction on pavement. Is this something that will improve over the 1000 miles all you talk about? They almost seem like they are very low traction on the pavement.

Let me know if any of you guys have experienced Any of this??View attachment 6025
Haven't been pressed to brake that suddenly. Hope it's not a flaw that is common. Good luck getting it worked out.

Congratulations Yukon on that awesome ride. Sorry about the brake issue but better it happened 5 minutes out than caught out in the middle of nowhere. Safe trip home bud (y)

My F-350 6.7 definitely was a wanderer when I first picked it up and drove DEN to Illinoisastan. However, like others have said, tire wear in and PSI adjustment based on load settled that very annoying behavior.

Clearly sounds like you got a clamper or both that need re-education or replacement regarding load sharing ability.

Hopefully, they get it sorted quickly!

Hey all! Update time!!

I am back in Whitehorse!

So here’s the situation.

After replacing both callipers and doing alignment the truck was still pulling hard right. I told them I couldn’t wait in Calgary any more and had to take it as is and would have the Ford store here continue where they left off.

I was pretty sour that they were unable to fix it and nervous for the 2400 km journey home down the Alaska highway which is extremely littered with windy curves and wildlife.

Well after about 600 km the tires settles and stopped wandering and I don’t want to jinx it but I think it has stopped. I tried a super hard brake application at 120 and it brakes straight. I will continue to monitor it and update. But considering how I almost wrote it off 5 mins after ownership and now just completed 2400 km down one of the most intense roads around I have to say I absolutely love this truck and now that it’s braking straight I feel totally comfortable in it. I even can confirm it tops out at 160 km/hour as I hit it many times passing semis down a sIngle lane highway.

I honestly think it was the tires and once they settled it stopped,

My service advisor friend who was handling the issues messaged me the following today. Which I will start a new thread for as well.

Hey Kevin so low and behold Ford released a memo on all 2020 F250/F350s on that brake pull today. The memo states:

Some 2020 F-250/F-350 vehicles may require replacement of the front brake caliper. If replacement of a front caliper is required to repair a vehicle for a pullwhile braking or brakes binding concern replace the caliper along with the caliper slides and caliper anchor bracket. For claiming use causal component 2B120 or 2B121 and applicable labor times from Section 02 in the Service Labor Time Standards (SLTS) Manual.

This was just released this morning
