Iron Man, Just got back from my dealer today to take a look at a 2020 Black on Black tremor that just showed up - basically was the truck I ordered but without the font bench seat (which is a must for me) - that black on black is unbelievable. while I was there I got my VIN and build date - it is a go for the first week of November. Dealership stated they think we could have this thing in by mid to late December now.
Great news

I noticed a much improved ride and handling when the tires were set to the factory recomended 60/80. The ride was smooth and I have had no problems ever since. I am sure the engineers at Ford did not just pull this 60/80 tire pressure recomendation out of a hat. They had reasons for it that most likely involved safety and handling. Do you have any well backed up engineering reasons for your recomendations or did you use a hat?

If you drive a lot of gravel you'll definitely want to run at lower than 80psi. I ran the first 2 months at 80 and by the time it was time to rotate there was already significant wear in the middle of the tread on my rear tires

So today was the day!

I picked up my 2020 350 Lariat Sport Tremor!!

Love the truck. Drives amazing and haven’t noticed any transmission shifting issues.

Here’s where is gets interesting.

I almost wrote the truck off 5 minutes into ownership. Was driving down the highway, hit the brakes as I was approaching a construction zone, and the truck pulled so hard to the right I almost crashed into the guard rail. I mean this thing pulled HARD to the right.

Truck is back at the dealership now with two new front callipers on order. They can’t say if the left is under engaging or the right is over engaging. Either way it was pretty terrifying

All I could think about was “as if im going to write this truck off 5 minutes after taking delivery. And this after driving 2400 km to pick it up and supposed to be driving the same 2400 back tomorrow morning which is going to be delayed.

They are saying the truck will be done tomorrow morning hopefully so we can begin our journey back to the Yukon.

I was wondering if anyone else has had this issue? Heavy and hard pulling to one side while applying heavy brake at highway speed??

Optimistic it’s a calliper issue and a quick fix.

Also, the comments I’ve read about the duratracks are dead on. The definitely wander, but I’ve also noticed they seem super slick and low traction on pavement. Is this something that will improve over the 1000 miles all you talk about? They almost seem like they are very low traction on the pavement.

Let me know if any of you guys have experienced Any of this??View attachment 6025
Regarding low traction: I noticed when empty/carrying no loads, and with psi at Ford's ridiculous 60/80, there is indeed less traction, particularly with the empty bed bouncing around. I'm guessing a Ford liability issue but who really runs the max psi with no loads? Ask your local tire shop what they would run for psi if you bought new tires from them. Or do a chalk test yourself. I lowered mine to 60/55 even, and in the winter I put sand bags in the back. Drives great. We have trucks to haul loads right? So if you're loaded up then you bet run the 60/80, otherwise reduce. Just my opinion, but check around and see what others are doing

In my Ranger, there is a menu option which allows you to reset the tyre pressure levels. Lower or raise your tyre pressures, hit the reset and away you go. Going off road? Air down, low pressure warning light comes on. Hit the reset. Light goes out. Back on road, air up, hit the reset button, drive on. Why Ford gives you this option on the Ranger and not the super duty’s makes no sense.

I wonder if that is a Aussie thing or across the board on the Ranger. Cool feature none the less, hopefully a future software update for everyone.

The Ranger was developed in Australia although clearly different markets have different requirements such as engines and suspension tune. However, I believe they use the same electronic architecture which is why even though not sold here Ford diagnostic equipment in our local dealerships can, I am told, work on the super duty’s. Even the sound of the chimes are the same. So it seems it’s a case of so close but yet so far.
