Haven't posted it on here yet but in January I took delivery of my 2023 Mustang GT premium in Mischievous Purple. First 2023 delivery and one of the last s550s in a super rare spec. Absolutely love this car. Now I just need a trailer to pull it lol

The wife's 2012 Volvo C70 was dying a slow death so I traded it on a super low mile loaded 2020 440i XDrive Cabrio while she was out of town on a girls trip to Havasu Falls. Told her I had her Volvo detailed and we needed to pick it up when she got back. To say she was confused when we pulled into the BMW dealer lot last night would be an understatement, so I took her out for fancy pizza w/a patio view of the parking lot after picking it up to soften the blow.

I think the exhaust burbles and cracks in Sport+ on the way there really did it. Pizza was just to make sure that as a couple we'd make it thru this trying time.

Love the HE, we just sold our 2020. I had a 2008 FJC TT (white) and a 2012 FJC TT (red) with the full-time 4WD and a manual.

Awesome. Wife’s 2021 LC got totaled when a lady hit her head on a few months ago. Found this replacement with 90 miles on it. Picked up the FJ on BAT late last year. Has 55k on it. Bronco is my kid’s. Gets his license in the fall.

The 200's are extremely safe vehicles, wish I could have justified keeping mine alongside of the truck. I sold the 2012 FJC TT manual with 37K on the clock back in 2016 for a handsome sum and then they shot up even higher after that. Great vehicles, still saw quite a few in Colorado a few weeks back, but they do have horrid blind spots. Lucky kid to be getting a new Bronco at his age, pretty awesome.

Nasty! Glad to hear she was uninjured. I drive through your neck of the woods on our way to our place in Ingram quite often, I'll keep an eye out for you in your toys.

Don’t want to create a separate thread. But wanted to ask those who understand this: why did this happen, the tail end of that trailer too heavy? It broke the truck frame?

Exactly. Needed nitrogen in the bike tires.

Don’t want to create a separate thread. But wanted to ask those who understand this: why did this happen, the tail end of that trailer too heavy? It broke the truck frame?

IIRC from reading the articles about it- the owner did not do his own research and took the truck dealership and the rv dealership salesmen at their word and bought a camper that was too heavy for his truck. Then chose to hang additional weight off the rear of it. Had this happen and tried to sue ram for not telling him he cant do that

I also recall that the truck/camper was driven off paved roads and hit several large dips at speed. Newtons 2nd law of motion, F=ma: Too large of a mass at the wrong spot on the vehicle multiplied by too large of an instantaneous acceleration resulted in a force large enough to bend/break something on the chassis.

I recall reading that as well. If memory serves he was grossly overloaded since used dry weight on the slide-in which was close to the max advertised payload for a DRW and not his actual payload (much less than max advertised). Add in all the extra gear take it off-roading and we all now get to see what happens when the pesky laws of physic’s come into play.

Exactly, having a large weight far behind the rear axle is going to flex the frame.
Repeatedly flex the frame and you will work harden the metal and cause it to stress cracks.
This wasn't a sudden failure, it built up over time.

Another point nobody seems to bring up. There are many frame shops that could repair & reinforce the frame.
It wouldn't be too hard to fix that and build back better (sorry I had too) so that it could handle what this guy wanted to carry.
That would be a lot cheaper than replacing the frame, like the articles quote.

Well that’s a silly question. Says RAM right there on the side of the truck. Seriously though it’s was an overload truck that did a lot of off highway driving. Also seriously I had a few HD Rams all made in Mexico, they aren’t as well built as my F350.
