StrokinOut
Tremor Addict
When I laid the stock rear next to the new Fox, the Fox was about half an inch shorter. I was little concerned about it, but when I drooped the rear axle out to install them, I still had to compress the shock about 2" to get them on. At least for the rears, the stock leaves are the limiting factor for articulation, not the shock.
I'm glad to see this, I had been curious on the rear if the springs were the limiting factor. Good to know.
In the front it's the shocks that limit down travel for sure. With stock coils, a shock that is too long can allow the coil to unseat.
I replaced some rear OEM shocks on a 2019 a couple years ago and had one laying around. Using the rear FOX part number above I compared the extended length of the stockers to that of those FOX shocks, measured eye to eye on center. The stock 2019 shocks measure over 1" longer at full extension (31-1/8"), and the replacements I installed (0-1.5" lift) were 1" longer than the stockers.
