Oh my - FOX Shocks

When I laid the stock rear next to the new Fox, the Fox was about half an inch shorter. I was little concerned about it, but when I drooped the rear axle out to install them, I still had to compress the shock about 2" to get them on. At least for the rears, the stock leaves are the limiting factor for articulation, not the shock.

I'm glad to see this, I had been curious on the rear if the springs were the limiting factor. Good to know.
In the front it's the shocks that limit down travel for sure. With stock coils, a shock that is too long can allow the coil to unseat.

I replaced some rear OEM shocks on a 2019 a couple years ago and had one laying around. Using the rear FOX part number above I compared the extended length of the stockers to that of those FOX shocks, measured eye to eye on center. The stock 2019 shocks measure over 1" longer at full extension (31-1/8"), and the replacements I installed (0-1.5" lift) were 1" longer than the stockers.

I had planned on writing all this up later in my build thread but might as well add the info here.

correct the fox shocks for stock tremor are the 0-1.5 and even then are longer than the stock shocks. At full droop the spring will unseat almost. The vacuum hub line gets tight along with the brake lines

waiting for mines to come in as well. I have these same shocks on my JL and the range of adjustments is perfect for driving on pavement to the trail and then softening them up for the trails. Great write up and side by side comparison between the stock shocks and the F2.5s.

Are these the ones you have to rebuild every 20k miles?

They are :( and 20k is stretching it (though hope they are as cautious as their mtb shocks, which I’ve gone double the service interval with no additional part wear)

Yikes! For that kind of money outlay I would certainly hope not. Maybe they’re not stout enough for an F350?

The fronts finally came in. The OE passenger was completely blown out with 26,000 miles on it.

Yeah the 20-22 shocks are garbage. What a shame 70,80,90k for a truck that you have to swap shocks almost immediately bc the factory shocks are defective

TX Crawler I would love some feedback/review now that you have the entire setup done. I am getting ready to pull the trigger on the same setup if the reviews support my current thoughts. Appreciate it.

PM sent.

The Performance Elite Series are not cheap. But per specs they appear to be the highest quality shock available for our stock location/application. The one piece all aluminum body, better designed seals, different pistons, etc. They run about 3500 for all four.
One of the reasons I appreciate that is because the lower end Fox and the Kings oxidize and weather so quickly.
😮
