Milwaukee M18 18V Cordless Tire Inflator 2848

I have the Milwaukee 18v in pump and I love it. I keep it and a Milwaukee 1/2” 18v impact in my tuck. I used to have tons of the “yellow” tools and am switching over to the red. My 1/2 impact that was yellow would not remove the lugs off of my truck but the Milwaukee does, I can use it to rotate my tires on one battery and still have juice left.

I know lots of folks use impacts to work on their tire rotations but i simply use breaker bars and wrenches even if it takes me a lot longer. It’s a spiritual exercise:-)

I have a couple of the Dewalt 20v inflators and a couple of the Milwaukee 12v inflators.

The 12v Milwaukee with a HO battery is faster than the Dewalt with a Flexvolt battery.

But the 12v Milwaukee is prone to overheating when trying to air up all four tires. The Dewalt's have been bulletproof for years.

I'd be curious to use the 18v Milwaukee. I'd imagine it's faster than the Dewalt since the Dewalt came to market first. It tends to be the case between these two brands that the best version of any tool is simply whichever updated their tool most recently.

Just look at the video i shared in 1st post. It answers both the speed and overhearing questions spot on.

I’m a Milwaukee fan through and through, but I keep a couple yellow tools in my company truck. The latest yellow stubby impact has a ton of torque. Much more than my Milwaukee stubbies do. I’ve got 3 Milwaukees. The High Torque, and 2 stubbies. One of the stubbies is the latest version. It’ll knock my lugs loose on my 250, but it has to work for it. My Dewalt stubby doesn’t even stutter on it. That said I’ve got 25+ Milwaukee Fuel tools, and only 3 yellow ones. Lol

The Etsy US made one is definitely a better adapter, and slimmer by about good 1/2 an inch. Now i can fit 6 and 8 AH batteries much easier with left over space.

However, due to its design, without pull out tabs like the cheaper chinese adapter has, the only way to pull it out from this particular tool is with force. The first time i hurt my fingers from the rebound, but repeated with a small towel it’s easy enough to do. I think it’s the one i’m going to keep on it with amazon one as a backup.

Thanks for taking the time to take those photos and write this up (and for posting those tool review videos, I subscribed to a couple of those channels  ).

This is really informative and now I need to take an inventory of my batteries to decide if another adapter is desirable. Who knows, if I watch too many tool reviews I may end up with a "mixed family" and team Yellow and team Red will have to learn to get along! :ROFLMAO:

Well, that settles what my next 2 purchases are then!

I'm eyeing the Daystar/Firestone kit that CJC sells which I believe comes with a Schrader valve that tucks up under the rear bumper if you order the "manual inflate" version.
I have this setup on my Dodge. With this compressor just timed 22 seconds from 0-70 psi lol.

Been my travel compressor for years. I did buy mine at Home Depot

Just the batteries alone are worth value as I too, have too many compressors but by the same token, it couldnt hurt.

Sometimes having to turn on the powered one to inflate a bike tire is for 5 lbs of air quite literally overkill.

Just how powerful are these units?

I'll find out soon, just ordered one but having seconds thoughts.

I was torn between that one or the cordless 2 gallon M18 compressor. They have it down to $349 right now with a free 8 Ah battery. Hmmm.. 🤔

5 lbs is tough with this one since you set the pressure you want it to inflate to and push the inflate button. I think it starts at 9 psi IIRC. It stops automatically.

You can start and stop it manually as well.

Sounds like most digital compressors nowadays -- all about those automatic settings. Seems more like a nusiance. What happened to one holding the trigger and stopping when you're done?

That is a tough one.

I'd break it down to size -- are you looking to carrying it on the bed of your rig or just to have it at home and move it around as you need it?

The 2 gallon capacity is a plus but for that I have a 5 gallon donut style (powered).

I do like the 8AH battery! Those batteries are monsters.

Which one of the two did you go with?

I actually like the set it and walk away capability. I have a dual ARB in my Jeep so I can put the Milwaukee on a tire and let it run while I go fill a tire with the ARB.

It’s another tool in the arsenal and works extremely well.

M18 18-Volt Lithium-Ion Cordless Inflator with Two 5.0ah and Charger I always have in truck. I do trailer tires pulling boat and it out 70 PSI in Tremor tires easily. I was going to get on board compressor and found this. It’s perfect for me and a lot less expensive and works!
