Meanings behind Monikers (Screen-names)

I've been driving Ford work trucks for 25 years but I've never owned one until the Tremor i picked up this week. Life long GM guy. I've owned several Chevy trucks, two 67' Chevelle's, two Corvette's, a 79' Trans Am and now two different 1LE Camaro's. Prob would have stayed with the Chevy 2500 if the latest models weren't so damn ugly....

Not going to let pride get in the way of me having the most bad ass truck on the market.

I was jumping on a trampoline at a party in high school and one of my buddies said I look liked Gumby. 30 years later my buddies from high school still call me Gumby so I run with it. ?
I have a buddy that i ride mountain bikes with that's gone by Pokey since he was a kid.... :)

I enjoy the random off topic conversations going on with the group and I’ve see this question come up a few times and I figured I’d start a thread for it. Anyone who wants to describe their forum name and any reasons behind it, here’s your place to do it.
Umm, you started this thread, but I don't see an explanation for Sludgemonkey44 in here. Were you going to share too?

What a great idea @Sludgemonkey44

Well, I've always been a gear head. Never been one to leave vehicles stock. I love to tinker with just about anything including vehicles, computers (custom, water cooled systems, overclocking), devices, etc.

Modified seemed a little cooler than tinkerguy ?

Best Hunting Dog I have ever seen. Had the pleasure of hunting with him for 13 years.

I served in the U.S. Navy from 1989 to 1995. During that time, I was assigned to a great ship. The U.S.S. Philippine Sea CG-58. The motto of the ship was, and still is, “Eternal Vigilance.” So, in honor of that great ship and its crew, my screen name is Vigilance247.

My name comes from two parts. The first is I work for a municipality in the sewer and water division. We take care of the drinking water storage and supply for the community and then deal with and treat whatever gets added to it when it leaves the houses and businesses. Obviously when you work in my field, you need to have a bit of a sense of humor (and a strong stomach or a horrible sense of smell), so I was immediately drawn to the derogatory nicknames for people in the sewer and water business. Sh*t Wrangler and Turd Herder just didn’t seem right, so I’ve really fallen in love with the term Sludge Monkey. It makes me laugh every time I say it so I thought...why not? I’m not technically a first responder, and I’m not military, but there are quite a few of us hiding behind the scenes, making sure you and your families have safe water to drink when you turn on the tap, and safe waterways to enjoy for recreation without the fear of disease or pollution.
Oh and the 44 comes from the caliber of the first handgun I bought a few days after my 21st birthday. For a few years it was my truck gun, my “conceal carry,” and my hunting handgun. A few years back I put a scope on it and it has been officially relegated to bear backup/deer season gun if I’m not feeling like lugging around a rifle. I quickly learned that a six shooter in .44 with a 6.5” barrel is not the easiest thing to conceal well!

Model 29 S&W?

Well, I'm white and my friends used to call be ryno in high school. I have a large-ish nose so they thought i looked like a rhino. They did call me gonzo for a while but it never stuck. That could have been a cool nickname. Also, the white rhino happens to be one of my favorite animals.

Nice. I'm a collector and have em all. 29, 629, 27 and 57(.41 mag)....all old scool with pinned barrels
Sorry guys didn't mean to hijack
A 57 is definitely on my short list. IMO, the .41 mag is highly underrated.

Funny, a long long time ago when I was a kid I worked (laborer/go-fer) for my Dad (Mechanical Contractor) who did mostly commercial/ industrial “process piping / plumbing, etc”. One day this plumber reaches in the ditch of a root clogged sewer line we were repairing (odd how powerful it smells at first but as the day goes on you adjust) pulls a “baby Ruth” out and says to me, “hey kid ya know what this is?” Before I can process my reply, he laughs and says, “this is your bread and butter!” then wipes his hand off on the grass and keeps working.

Later, when I was with the airlines doing my thing they had people who dump and service the lavs on the plane- their trucks were called “turd hearse” and the one turd hearse driver who we joked back n forth with was called “The Mierda Muchacho”.

My first firearm also a .44 but a 7.5” Ruger Super Blackhawk- purchased new in 79 for $189.

Thanks for keeping our water safe!

Everyone has heard enough of me being an Ironworker.
My wife likes to tease me with the line "Your so vain, you probably think this song is about you don't you, don't you"
But I remind her the song WAS ABOUT HIM, ABOUT HIM, ABOUT HIM :)
