I'm pretty sure I want a Platinum but have been playing with Lariat builds. Does anyone know what material difference there is between a totally optioned out Lariat vs a totally optioned out Platinum to account for a ~$4K price diff? Is it really just the platinum badging and slightly fancier seat accents?

To put this in perspective, I built a Platinum Tremor with pretty much every option except for PTO and a few others and a totally optioned out Lariat with Sport and Ultimate package and added on everything else that would be standard on the platinum like adaptive steering and adaptive cruise etc, moonroof on both.. I'm ending up with a $88K platinum and a nearly $84K Lariat. The only real reason I'm considering Lariat is to get the blacked out grill as I don't love the chrome on the Platinum and don't see a blackout package for platinum.

Here are the 2 builds, as you can see both are optioned basically to the max. Why is the Platinum still 4K more expensive if I've basically added everything the Plat has onto the Lariat?
I jumped up to Lariat sport value and spent more than I wanted, but I feel it was a jump well worth the extra in interior alone from “XLT” Tremor loaded. List over 66k+will pay 61,720+tx -no ultimate Lariat package. Did not want any chrome
come on PCO
Still waiting for build and delivery

Man I'm at least 3 months out from even placing my order....Can't even start till I confirm by bonus number in early/mid December. I don't expect any surprises but you never know.

I'm still leaning toward the platinum for the seats and stuff but when the time comes the blackout look of the Lariat might win me over.

I also went Lariat...
what swayed you? Just the blackout look or feeling like you could put that money to better use on mods? I'm kinda torn.

I went fully loaded Lariat because I did not want all the chrome on the Platinum. I feel like the only thing I'm missing is the massaging seats. Given how much I love my Lariat Tremor, I'm over the loss of the seats and enjoy the heck out of it every single time I get behind the wheel.

can you get the front and rear wheel well liners with the Lariat? It won't let me build it that way, which seems weird/dumb.
Lariat sport comes with the rears (which I have) and the fronts can be added for less than 200 bucks from ford after you take delivery.

@jhblaze1 looks like Ford has discontinued your color. Are either of the new colors close to Magnetic?

son of a bitch lol...I'm guessing either the litium or carbon grey will be a dark charcoal grey color.

Looks like they're cheaping out on a bunch of shit...making the tailgate step optional even on high trims, 8 way vs 10 way seats, making adaptive steering optional on Platinum. Deleting windshield wiper deicer. WTF are they doing?

All about $$$$$

yep

so that price increase is more than $270 if you want the same truck. I think adaptive steering is a $1K option and the bed step will probably be good for $500

Not liking the delete of the wiper deicer either....wonder if that means no heated steering wheel option?

I went loaded lariat ... Only thing I am missing is the adaptive cruise control which I missed on the options and the message seats which for me are weird and just blow up a air bag and deflate .... Honestly they hurt my fucked up back more then be enjoyable but you could probably buy the seats from a Platinum and add to the Lariat ... In forscan you can add the seat settings and the wiring harness may be the same ... Something to look into ... But the blackout is what I wanted I spent alot of money on my f150 to delete the chrome ... $3000 for grill ... And wheels and tires and mirrors caps and badges and bumpers ... It adds up and my f150 was only a Lariat as well

Some say the de-icer is still there but just not listed?

Heated steering wheel comes with Rain Sensing wipers.
