I got in the truck this morning, and Google Maps from my iPhone put Google Maps on the HUD and driver console like Ford Nav and Apple Maps.

Not sure what was updated, I had no updates to phone or truck.

What is the current version of software your are running?

iOS - 18.6.2, I'll have to check the truck later. I haven't gotten in an update in months for the truck.

SYNC - Version 25094_PRODUCT Revision 1779

Confirmed this works on mine now!

Too bad Waze isn’t supported yet but having Google is so much better than Maps

I plan to test my wife's Jeep GC to see if it works there. I'm still not sure what flipped the switch; I'd assume Apple. Which would mean all carplays with HUD should work.

It’s got to be on Apple/App Developers side

It was Apple, it works in the wife's Jeep GC as well. What's interesting is that there was no Google Maps or iOS update. So, something else suddenly allowed it.

Same. Started working for me a few days ago on my recent road trip. I too went to check and there was no recent software update. iOS18.5

DOJ antitrust fears help companies figure it out sometimes. Hopefully Waze follows.

There's Waze around Apple and it's Android 🤪.

I dont have this on my 2024 KR yet. Everything looks to be up to date software wise. Any ideas?

It's not Ford, it's Apple as it worked in my wife's Jeep GC as well. Make sure your iPhone is up to date with google maps and iOS. I'm on 18.6.2 but someone said they were on 18.5 and it worked.

Yep I am on 18.6.2

Interesting, that is odd. Google Maps is up to date? I just went through Maps to see if any setting was there but nothing.

Nice! My Ford Navigation subscription is about to expire. I will test this.

Testing using both Google and Waze at same time, setting Waze audio to only alerts.

Previously if you used an iPhone Apple Maps could display on the HUD, using a droid google maps could display on the HUD, crossover wasn’t available.

If this is your issue I don’t know what to tell you. If neither works for you it’s a Ford programming issue. Common for early 2024 production. I spent to much time figuring it out.

Best advice… get a free dealership loaner and don’t return it until you confirm the fix.

Confirmed just have Google map runner by to get HUD info, and Waze on for audio alerts like police ahead
