High Pressure Fuel Pump (CP4) *OFFICIALLY* Dead

That should read: better than brand new.

First thoughts on the pump? Any noticeable difference?

The difference with my swap was very noticeable but I also went full piping kit at the same time so you can certainly feel all the guts.

I do notice a little more smoothness with the DCR on acceleration and just initial power. Not a crazy increase, but it is noticeable.

It does seem to deliver fuel quicker and with less throttle input.

Did you notice it idles rougher? Slightly, not much, but noticeable.

seems to be smoother, but then again my truck has been idling like shit for months so anything is better than it was

Interesting testimony.

Every stroy I've read regarding CP4 failure seem to mention the grenading is without prior warning and just sudden.

Needless to say, what better than to start the weekend with her back and firing on all 8.

I have had a CEL on for a month, (I only drove the truck a couple times to the dealer and couple repair shops, I let it sit mostly because I didnt want to make it worse) that was the original reason why I brought it to the dealership because I have a CEL for Injector on Cylinder 4, thats when they kept telling me it was the intake issue and not the injector blah blah. My guess is the injector issue was probaly dirty from glitter from the CP4 staring to fail, and finally it completely died and thats when I lost all fuel pressure and the truck wouldn't start.

She was hurtin' and no one knew? Poor thang.

It seems like we just don't know enough about these failures for a proper diagnosis.

My buddie's '19 CP4 ate dust but it was from one second to the next - as we often hear is the outcome.

You may have a story to tell for the books.

Glad she's pumping good blood with the new heart.

God this is a great looking truck. Hard to beat a Star White 22 with BAP.. but I am biased.

Glad you got er back.
Thank you :) it’s actually. 20’ with the 12” sync4 conversion. 😎

You’ve got tricks up your sleeve!
I should have said pre ‘23 truck, and not just assumed it was a 22.

Brain is a little slow this Saturday morning..
