Heavy Loads & Hauling with the Tremor

final pic is coming off the mtn, with only 20 gal diesel in the bed...so rear is getting lighter, and water tank empty (1000 lbs water, about 150lbs diesel gone)

I have a 250 Tremor Lariat w/6.7 PS and the max capacity trailer tow pkg, 10,800 GVWR. My yellow sticker says I have 2730 lbs cargo capacity. If I install a 100 LBS 5th wheel hitch and put 2500 lbs of pin in the bed, there isnt any cargo weight left for me and my wife and dog. Buy the F350 Tremor, from what I understand, its only 500 bucks more.

i have the 11500 gvw in my 350. iirc 30k gcwr

My truck is only capable up to about a 1300 lbs tongue or pin weight "dry"....and maxs out at about 1800-2000 lbs trailer fully loaded. I am looking at half-ton towable 5th wheels or TT in the 10k-11k GVWR range, 8-9K Dry.

The 250 with the high capacity tow package has a 350 rear axle. The only difference between a 250 and 350 is the 350 has one additional leaf in the pack. It’s been that way for a while now. The 250’s GCWR is increased to 30k. I had a friend that bought a 350, took the extra spring out cause it was too stiff, and just used air bags to compensate. I’m looking at a 250 with this package to tow my 36’ 5th Genesis Supreme toy hauler.

I completely agree that a 250 with Max Tow Cap. has the same axel and rear suspension as a 350, GCWR 30K, could easily tow anything weighing 21K....etc. The difference between the 250 and the 350 is the certification from Ford. My truck is legally bound by the below pictured yellow and white tag. If the cargo/Pin Weight/accessories/people exceed 2730 LBS, then I am operating my vehicle illegally. It doesn't even matter, untill I am involved in an accident (even not be my fault), and some one dies....then my insurance won't cover me, I lose every thing to the Lawyers, and maybe I do jail time........I think if somone was shopping for a truck to tow a big Fiver...they would be wise to spend the extra few dollars and get the 350.

How much is the max tow package? Does that come with the ultimate tow pack?
Max Tow is only available with the 6.7. Just verified.

Here is a fantastic spreadsheet that will show you if you are technically legal to tow a particular trailer. Get all green checkmarks....your good to go. This spreadsheet is the reason I traded in my FX4 F150....and became a proud Tremor owner. My 2019 Ford edge has a Cargo Capacity of 950 LBS....My F150??...1100 LBS......that isn't enough to put 5 people in it!

The High Capacity Trailer Tow Package with/Pro Trailer Backup Assist cost $2730...which I just got off my Sticker. Not sure of other options or possible combos. I bought my truck out of dealer stock in January.

I talked to Airlift directly, the part number is 89350 for the Loadlifter 5000 Ultimate Plus. That’s the only model they have for the 2020 Super Duty.

I see a lot of people have installed them but I’ve spoken to them twice and both times they have told me they will NOT fit the Tremor unless I modify them. I wish all their reps were on the same page

I chose a different route, I went with 2800 LBS Sumo Springs In the rear....check: What did you do to your Tremor today....page 15. $240, 20 Minute install............

Picked up my 2021 Cirrus 820 this weekend in SLC. Tipped the scale just over 11,500 lbs with a camper wet weight of 3100 lbs. We drove back to Denver taking US 40 through Vernal, Craig and Fraiser over Parleys, Daniel’s, Rabbit Ears and Berthoud Passes. No problems once we got the airbags dialed in. Maintaining speeds of 60-65 averaged 11.9 mpg on the 7.3l with plenty of power. View attachment 1990
Hello, question for you. I'm considering ordering a Tremor, but want to be sure about GVWR, specifically payload for a camper like you. During the build process online and choosing the Tremor package, it's not possible to order the camper package or the Snowplow/camper package, in order to obtain the "Camper Certification". So I'm curious what your door tag said about payload?

My wife and I just spec'd out a F350 Tremor, and my concern is the payload with a 5th Wheel Toy Hauler. I am new to this, and the truck will haul and tow just fine. However, the information I am finding is my Family of 4 with the 5th wheel hitch and the hitch weight itself puts me about 800lb over my payload. Tips and suggestions if that is able to be over come would be greatly appreciated.

The Airlift rep told me the **399 would not work on the 2020, not sure what the issue was but I think some guys were able to make them work. I was told the **350 was the new model for the 2020 and it went in easy.

Towed the 311BHS last week for the first time home from a dealer in Cheyenne back to southeast Denver suburbs. 7.3 and 10 speed are a great combination - no issues towing and in fact I feel it exceeded my expectations. The only detractor is low mpg but it’s very capable.

It gets ~11 mpg unladen with my foot at CO highway speeds (75-85 mph) and it got something like 6.5 mpg on the way back at the posted limit with a few passes around idiots, which btw is about half downhill and half uphill from Cheyenne to south Denver, probably -1000 ft to the low point north of Denver and close to +1000 ft gained to the north edge of the Palmer Divide where I live.

I left it in tow/haul the whole time, at first limited it to only 8th gear and below, but after watching trans temps (peak of 223f) and knowing the 10 speed is capable of handling temps, I then let the computer do its thing in all gears. I'm guessing it's capable of 7-8mpg with more gentle cruise control usage and/or east of here.

Are all Tremors 4.30 or is that just gas?
Is that 250 or a 350?

I’m in the same boat, deciding between a 250 or a 350 for the same reason, looks like the 350 has a payload 600#’s higher.
