@Godzilla/Tremornator travel & antics

I'm going to get a flat network cable for through the window. then use a waterproof coupler to attach to the shortest Starlink cable i can order. modem will sit, probably attached to the center rear headrest. power cord from the modem to the rear ac outlet. keeps it all portable & easy peasy setup & removal.

all fixed

Steer clear of flat network cables if at all possible. They are much more susceptible to EMI and crosstalk which can cause all sorts of strange issues. If you notice anything off like intermittent slowdowns or disconnects, swap it for a proper cat6 or even cat5e cable. I hate the flat network cables with a passion 😂

Source: own and operate a commercial IT company and worked as a low voltage electrician (aka half-watt) prior.

The cat6 should be smaller right? dont they have a tighter thread/wind?

Depends entirely on cable construction. There are definitely some ultra-thin cat6 cables out there, but in my experience, they are much more fragile - not something I'd want to run in a harsh environment.

ordered a couple of extras in case they fail.

If you need Cat 6 cable... I have spools of it... outdoor rated and shielded. I can cut you a piece of any length that you need and give it you when I see you next.

thx thx
what i needed is already ordered for now

I'll take you up on it next time

well

they texted me 3 times. pics & a vid of a new 2025 f250 black lariat tremor 7.3 gas. emailed me twice. called me 3 times. twisted my arm to make an appointment.

downhill from there.

the guy that was so pushy to make an appointment was too busy to see me. when to another guy that wouldn't leave me alone anytime i was just checking their lot.

4hrs of haggling, this way, that way, every which way. the best they would do is my truck & me pay $40k more along with tax, title & license. they also tried to tell me invoice was just $4500 under sticker.

couldn't do it. gave it the whole hearted try. guessin I'm keepin this one for life now.

sux
gotta do a break job on it tomorrow now😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂

new front rotors & pads all the way around.

milked the pads a few too many miles!!!!!

when they evaluated it they found the front axle seals seeping. more warranty paying off again!!!!!!

Milk it as much as you can, is what I say 🤪.

With all the features they're cutting from the 2025s, I think you ended up with the best outcome. You've basically got a brand new truck that will last you for years to come and with it no payment, cheaper insurance and registration.

Plus I hear some people really like the design of the 2020 - 2022 model years. Could just be a rumor...

well I've just about determined metal brake pads aren't the way to go

🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂

milk 'em for 95k miles what should you expect, i guess?????

fyi & heads up. no pre-warnings. just started grinding on me.

so, check your wear marker (slots). they're all you have to prevent what i let happen!!!!!!

also, had a nightmare with the coatings on the caliper bolts. not only the lock-tight but also some anti-corrosion silverish coating. had to run bolts through backwards to clean-up the threads & save needing new calipers. just a heads up if you're not already aware. had to use a cheat-bar on them all the way out???? finger threaded all the way after i spent too long battling that nightmare. cause of that & old, weak, stiff & slow!!!!! 😂🤣😂🤣😂

getting the rotor to free up was another wooping!!!!!!

took all day just for me to get the front driver side done.

finally came together fine

did they not have the squealer tabs?

actually i guess it did

a little late on the warning for what I'd prefer though
😂🤣😂🤣😂

Ya know, this would never happen if you didn't drive it 🤪.

wonder if you chunked an pad, would make sense why you had little warning then.

chunked?

taking it apart & putting it back together there isn't anything to give you a warning

all there is, is visual inspections

I'd recomended at tire rotation intervals while getting a fresh balance & rotation.

there are peephole windows in the caliper for each pad (inside & out)

you have to rotate the hub for each. you can't see both ant the same time

but look for the wear indicator groove in the brake pads
