went from puckered a little to full blown "well shit"

went a little too far out in the old lake bed north of Bonneville salt flats

stopped to take these pics

got back on the truck to proceed

rear tire just spun

ut oh

4x4 & locker
everything just spun

oh $hit I'm in trouble
& way out in nowhere land
miles!!!!! out!!!!!
crap!!!!!!

2hrs plus later

8 to 10 inches down firmed up
dug all the mud out 3 to 4 ft behind each tire. wedged in the track boards. aired down to 12psi.

got a little momentum & luckily got un-stuck

bad news / good news

bad first:
"Tremor" is in the shop
took it in Tuesday evening last week
they've diagnosed
needs new motor
needs transmission rebuild
it's going to be in the shop 3 weeks

good now:
new motor
fresh tranny
all under warranty
warranty covers a rental

94,000miles
new motor
new trans
might have just turned into a keep for life truck
we'll see???

Any chance you have the diagnostics report that you could share? Or the report from the mechanic?
Want to make sure they don’t just piece meal this one?

made it to white pocket

weird mix of rock & sand getting here

heavy thick sand some places

rear wheels only all but 1 spot

a lot of spinning fighting through the sand.


the spot i had to kick in 4x4.

i backed out to try rear drive only. though i may have just been lolly gagging. backed out. back in rear wheels only. hit it pretty aggressive. still bogged down & had to 4x4 & locker to go on. fun fun!!!!!!

not like the mud issue a few days ago.
