“The Kentucky Truck Plant, on Chamberlain Lane, produces F-Series Super Duty Trucks, Ford Expedition and Lincoln Navigator SUVs. The Louisville Assembly Plant, on Fern Valley Road, produces Ford Escape and Lincoln MKC.”
Regardless of shutting down or not, they all face chip shortages. No denying that.
Same day. 4/19/2021For those that have placed 2022 orders with your dealer: about how many days was it until you saw a response from Ford-such as a confirmation of placed order?
Same day.......But no VIN number supplied yet. Its been 1 weekSame day. 4/19/2021
Nope, and mine has the priority code 19 as well. LOL, I also have a 2021 Shelby GT500 on order from the same dealer.Same day.......But no VIN number supplied yet. Its been 1 week
You won't have a VIN until the truck is scheduled, could be a while.Same day.......But no VIN number supplied yet. Its been 1 week
I call once per week and ask about the VIN, and the standard response is try again next week. You won't have a VIN until the truck is scheduled, could be a while.
I've been having terrible dreams about buying a RAM??......Never though do I wake up and go gee maybe I should go get one since they're not scarce on dealer lots. 2 lemon law buy backs later I'll stick with my super duty...gladlyI call once per week and ask about the VIN, and the standard response is try again next week.
I think my email is on the order now, but no one has truly confirmed that at Ford. The dealer said it was.
I know the truck will take longer than the 6-12 weeks Ford normally takes. I know it’s the chip shortage, and I’m ok with that.
Subconsciously, I must take some issue with it because I keep dreaming about it. One night I dreamt that it came in with a lowering kit. I was very upset about that and the dealer refused to address it.
The next dream I ended up buying a GMC Sierra 1500 short box regular cab as an alternative while I waited for the Ford to be built...and somehow didn’t realize how different it was from the f350 diesel until I had already paid for the gmc. Wtf? I was full of regret.
No telling where these dreams will go as the waiting game continues! Haha!
I would work out a lease option on something he has on his lot to get you thru the wait. he will get your truck plus a sale down the road and then he will also get a used Truck or Car he can sell as well. Win Win WinSo kind of topic related.....yesterday my dealer called me and asked if I wanted to sell them my truck. I currently have a 2021 250 platinum with under 3k miles. I said everything has a price but the big question is when is my truck going to be built that I ordered. Long story short ge said his Ford rep told him that Ford is not committing to any time lines what so ever and he would have to let me know. I asked what's rhe number he said 83k. That's sticker for the truck I have now and more than the X-Plan I paid. Moral of the story. If the dealer is willing to purchase a truck from me for more than I paid the same dealer and has a delaer rep telling him no comment for anything related to time frame, we're in this for the long haul buds. Oh and he said he heard it through the grapevine that PCO's will be like unicorns this year so don't get your hopes up unless it's for a 21MY vehicle. FWIW
Update on mine truck and help out anybody watching
