I haven't received any info at all up to this point on my order placed on 2/22. My dealership is a bunch of careless, clueless dickweeds. I'm assuming they didn't put my name and email on the order. I assume that because I called Ford directly and explained the issue and they used my order number to locate my VIN for me (I know everyone says you can ONLY get it from the dealer but I am telling you with 100% fact that I got mine from Ford). Therefore, I know the order has been placed.
I've also leveraged the live chat on performance.ford.com to confirm the scheduled build week and can now track it (albeit it seems very inaccurate) on the ford tracking site since I have the VIN.
It was discouraging to hear out of my dealers mouth (both the salesman and the sales manager) that they "personally called Ford and they said there is no VIN" yet I called Ford (because according to performance.ford.com it was scheduled to be built and they confirmed it wouldnt be scheduled without a VIN) and they provided me a VIN. My dealer was either clueless or doesn't give a shit about me, and likely both. If I had any options for recourse I would take them, but with how bad the chip shortage is and the lengthy wait times, I can't really afford to tell the dealer to go pound sand and find a new dealer to order through.
TLDR - just because you haven't received the email and/or VIN doesn't necessarily mean it wasn't ordered. I may be the outlier, but I am an example of how the incompetence of some dealers can cause confusion/concern
