It varies based on situations. Some people prefer to leave it off (stealth mode) and it will still continue to record.

One of my favorite mods yet. Ridiculous something like this is not standard for Ford by now! 🤦‍♂️ go the oem route mount. You won’t regret it.

I prefer to leave mine on the rear-view option. I haven’t found a way to visualize just the front camera in the mirror. However you can view all 3 at once. If anyone knows if front cam view only is even an option, please chime in.
 
Any regrets losing the actual mirror? Seems like a video feed would be tough to get used to, especially at night. I planned to put this in my Bronco but might get two or three of them if losing the mirror is a non-issue.

Also, no auto-brightness, correct?

The unit itself when powered on is plenty bright any time of day or night. Not sure if auto or not. Functions as an actual mirror as well at the push of a button. The view however when powered off is a little more tinted than the oem from my observation.
I’ve had mine for 6 months or so now.
It definitely stays on way more than it stays off.

Ah, I hadn’t noticed that it doubles as a mirror in any of the videos I’ve seen. More worried about the screen being too bright at night and having to manually adjust it back and forth. Wouldn’t bother me in the Bronco but it might in the truck.
 
Does this offer come with the OEM mount or does that need to be purchased separately?

How is the quality? Specifically are they known to last a long time? I don't want to go through the trouble of wiring it all up only to have to take it back down in two years
